This week, we celebrated the World Youth Skills Day and today we celebrate the achievements of young entrepreneurs like Winnie and Lillian, who are part of our Inclusive Futures Global Labor Program. Despite facing unique challenges as young people with disabilities, they've gained the confidence, skills, and knowledge to succeed in business and advocate for their rights. "I've learned my rights as an entrepreneur... no one should discriminate me." - Winnie "I can now separate my personal and business finances, and my business is doing well." - Lillian Let's work together to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all young people to thrive! https://lnkd.in/e8c-9c-X #WorldYouthSkillsDay #InclusiveFutures #YouthEmpowerment #SkillsForAll

    • Winnie smiling while standing outdoors, wearing a cream jacket and a red floral skirt.

Announcing the next session for our event on Thursday July 18 at Royal Society of Arts... At manifesto we believe inclusivity, diversity and accessibility should be foundational to all the experiences we create and set standards for how they work. Listening to people with lived experience of disability is crucial to developing insight to enable us to create highly usable, accessible experiences. Molly Watt is a usability and accessibility consultant, TEDx speaker, author and illustrator of two anti-bullying children's books. She is also the ambassador and advocate of the Molly Watt Trust. Molly will bring her unique perspective of being a deafblind person, a user of assistive technology and how embedding inclusive thinking and design can help make services better for everyone. She was recently awarded the 2024 “See Differently” Best Content of the Year award by RNIB.   Matt Roberts is Lead Digital & UX Designer at Sightsavers and Co-Chair of the Inclusive Design Council for BIMA (British Interactive Media Association). Matt brings his lived experience of being a colourblind designer and will focus on how his colour blindness helps him to see things from a different angle, discussing both the challenges and the advantages.   Our Chief Experience Officer, Scott Ewings will talk with them both about accessibility and inclusion in digital products. The session will explore how organisations can build their business case to improve the accessibility of their digital experiences. If you’d like to come along this Thursday 18 July, sign up here (last few spots remaining or we’ll add you to our waitlist): https://lnkd.in/eCUmjpqF #LivedExperience #Disability #Ushers #Accessibility #Inclusion #NewEngagementEra #manifestoForChange Image descriptions ID 1: On a warm white background are floating lime green and lilac orbs. “These glasses will help me achieve my ambitions!" 🎓 Minahil from Pakistan loves going to school. When her vision started to become blurry and attending classes became a struggle, Minahil's future was unclear. After being screened in class and being given glasses, her eyes are no longer strained and attending school is a more comfortable experience for her. Onwards and upwards! 💫 #Sightsavers #Screening #EyeHealth #Support #RefractiveError #Pakistan
