The surveying team, along with friends and colleagues, celebrated John Turck's retirement after his dedicated 41-year career as Senior Chief of Crews in Surveying. He began at Cotton Surveying Company in 1983, which merged with Jones|Carter in 1985 to later become Quiddity Engineering. To honor his service, our team organized a retirement party at Charlie's BBQ, one of John's favorite local spots. In addition, they arranged custom co-branded Cotton Surveying and Quiddity Engineering caps to represent the span of his career, alongside a picture book capturing memories with coworkers dating back to 1983. John plans to enjoy his retirement traveling and spending time with family. Best wishes to John!

Sherri McElwee, P.E. is a Land Development Manager with 27 years of experience in Quiddity’s Bellaire Office. As a member of Quiddity’s Women’s Network, Sherri values the opportunity to mentor other women and finds it highly rewarding. “My favorite aspect of this group has been the opportunity to have an impact on other women in the group. I really enjoy the time that we spend each month and building relationships with all the women in Quiddity.” Sherri believes, “As more women enter our field and assume leadership roles, they inspire more women to enter the field. This is evident with the number of women engineers in the company almost equal to the number of men. This was not the case when I entered the field when there were few women in the field and fewer in leadership roles.” Additionally, she states, “Resilience is key to success. Remember that your voice and opinion are important. Your ideas should be heard.”
