Our Central Texas interns were given the opportunity to visit the Kyle Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Kyle WWTP recently had a $34M plant expansion which increased the plant's capacity from a permitted average daily flow (ADF) of 3.0 MGD to an ADF of 4.5 MGD. Although it was hot and stinky, we learned a lot about the WWTP's process and the recent expansion. This was an excellent opportunity for them to see how the work they do in the office translates to practical, real-world applications.
