About us

Founded in 1960, Dot Foods is North America’s largest food industry redistributor and one of the largest private, family-owned businesses in the U.S. Started by Robert and Dorothy Tracy in the small Midwestern town of Mt. Sterling, Illinois, Dot now delivers to all 50 states and over 50 countries. Dot employs more than 4,000 individuals and hasn't had a single layoff in all our history. Our corporate headquarters is still located in Mt. Sterling, but we also have 13 distribution centers in the U.S.; a corporate sales office in St. Louis, Missouri; two locations in Canada; and a joint venture in Mexico. Although our locations are spread out across North America, each practices our brand promise every day: Trusted Values. Innovative Solutions. Shared Growth.® This message is as true today as it was when the Tracys built the business. Robert and Dorothy instilled a set of values that serve as the cornerstone of our business model. And these values promise to provide innovative solutions for our business partners to ensure their problems, both big and small, are solved. In the end, we don’t succeed unless our employees are happy and our partners grow their businesses alongside ours. If you work for us or join Dot Foods as a partner, you can be sure that we will take care of our relationship and ensure it flourishes.

Dot Foods is all about providing innovative solutions to our business partners, but we also love to support innovative solutions for our community. Our Modesto distribution center recently presented $25,000 to the Awesome Spot Playground, the first socially inclusive and physically accessible playground in the region. For the community, and our own employees, this is an impactful project that will ensure all children have a safe, fun place to play.
