Our participation in the Airport Concessionaires Accelerator Program earned us a certificate recently. As participants in the inaugural session of the Airport Minority Advisory Council program, we were given the chance to discuss the aspects of it that we found most valuable. The highlight of the event for us was making relationships in preparation for joining the Airport Minority Advisory Council. We also gave a demonstration of our skills at the graduation ceremony. The AMAC National Office Team traveled to Atlanta to listen to speeches from each member of our cohort. AMAC member Randy Hazelton, the special guest speaker, made inspirational remarks. The accelerator program was in conjunction with ACE | Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs and Morehouse College. On June 25, 2024, the AMAC National Office Team traveled to Atlanta to celebrate the commencement of the inaugural class of the AMAC, Morehouse Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center and ACE | Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs Airport Concessionaires Accelerator Program. As the special guest speaker, Randy Hazelton, an AMAC Member, provided inspirational remarks. The highlight of the evening was hearing from the cohort graduates about what they found most valuable during their time in the program. The event concluded with product demonstrations given by the cohort.

The ACC Board of Directors held a productive mid-year meeting in Washington DC this week. They reviewed membership trends and values, including initiatives to enhance ACC’s advocacy in representing private airport development companies. They were joined by Eboni Wimbush, President of the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) to discuss future opportunities, and Sandy Lynch and Maria Schaff of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) who shared their perspectives on membership trends. The Detroit AMAC Chapter’s Inaugural Annual Golf Outing goes on the books and it was a big success!
