How to Get Peacock on a Smart TV

Download the app or use Roku, Chromecast, or AirPlay

This article offers tips for downloading the Peacock app to your device, finding out if your TV is supported, and using Chromecast or AirPlay if the app isn't available for your TV.

How to Download the Peacock App on A Smart TV

Accessing the Peacock TV app is similar to downloading any other apps on your smart TV, usually by searching for the app from the system’s app store and signing up for an account. If you have a Samsung smart TV or the app isn't available on your device (such as Fire TV), you can get Peacock using a Roku, Chromecast, or other compatible streaming device.

The screenshots below are from a Roku, but these basic steps also apply more generally to downloading the Peacock app across compatible TV platforms.

  1. From the Home menu, select Search to find the Peacock App from the Roku Channel Store.

Alternatively, you can add this channel through the web browser by visiting Roku's Channel Store. Search for Peacock and select Add Channel and either create an account or sign in if you’re already a Peacock subscriber.

How to Use Chromecast to Watch Peacock Content on Your Smart TV

If you’d prefer to sign up for Peacock on a mobile device or computer, or you don’t have an eligible television, Chromecast offers a workaround. Follow these steps to stream content from a Chromecast or Chromecast-enabled mobile device and smart TV.

  1. Select content from the Peacock app or through the browser on your Chromecast-enabled device.

  2. Select the Chromecast icon and choose your smart TV to begin streaming.

As long as your Chromecast-enabled device is a first-generation or more recent model, including TV models with built-in Chromecast or the Chromecast with Google TV should support streaming to a smart TV.

How to Use AirPlay to Stream Peacock TV

Another route for compatible smart TVs is AirPlay streaming from a Mac or iOS device.

Macs running macOS Mojave (10.14.5) and iOS devices operating on iOS 12.3 and later support AirPlay video streaming.

  1. Log in to your Peacock account or open the app on your device and queue up the content you want to stream.

  2. On a Mac, select the AirPlay icon in the menu bar to connect your device to a compatible smart TV.
