Download and Set Up ChatGPT for Android

You need Android 6.0 or later to use the ChatGPT mobile app. To get and set up ChatGPT on your Android phone, follow these steps.

1. Open Google Play and search for the ChatGPT app.

2. When you see ChatGPT in the results, tap Install and then Open once the app downloads.

3. Either sign in to your existing OpenAI account or create a new one.

   You can use Google, Apple, or an email address to sign in or set up a new account. For a new account, pick a method and then follow the prompts to enter and verify your personal details.

You need iOS 16.1 or later to use the ChatGPT mobile app on iPhone. To download and set up ChatGPT, follow these steps.

1. Open the App Store and search for the ChatGPT app.

3. Either log in to your existing OpenAI account or set up a new account.

How to Use the ChatGPT Mobile App

Once you install ChatGPT on Android or iPhone, the navigation, features, and basic usage are the same.

To ask a question or enter a prompt, tap inside the Message box at the bottom of the screen and add your text. Alternatively, you can use dictation by selecting the microphone icon.

When you finish, tap the send button (up arrow) to receive your response.

After you get your response, you can copy it, select the text, regenerate the response, provide feedback, or hear it read out loud. Tap and hold the response to choose an option.

To start a new chat on a different topic, tap the pencil icon on the top right or select the menu icon (two lines) and choose ChatGPT to go to the main screen.

View Your Chat History

2. You’ll see a list of all requests and responses and can select one to reopen it.
