732sqft 3rm bto Sharing bits and pieces of home & life in our late 20s!

Why we think it’s WORTH IT
We have been enjoying our Steigen Solar Pro and here’s why! ✅ Easy to use I dislike appliances with complex functions so I really appreciate how easy it was to operate the system! ✅ Fully dried laundry all the time! The high heat and air volume coverage across all our clothes helped

We dismantled our HDB rack!
… to make way for a Steigen Solar Pro! Having lived on our own for almost a year, I really do miss the days when mum would do my laundry and I would have fresh, clean and dry laundry hung back into my wardrobe for me. Talk about being a spoiled child back then 🥲 When we first moved in, my mum

Pleated Vs Ripple Fold Curtains
One of our hardest reno decisions! After all, curtains do change the look of a room. 🍋 Pleated Curtains • Most common type of curtain • Gives a timeless and sleek look to your place • More affordable as compared to ripple fold curtains • Do not have to factor in a good amount of space

We wished we researched more…
We decided to go with a frosted glass swing door for our MBR toilet as we weren’t fans of the typical slide and swing toilet doors. Neither did we choose to install another door from BTO Doors ( One of our best buys!!! ) as they’re not 100% waterproof and we only shower in our MBR toilet. We go

Should you install it?
Hey Zesties! 🍋 If you’re thinking of installing acrylic panels with LED in your BTO toilet, we recommend you do it! ✨ It changes the mood and ambience of your entire bathroom. Think cozy vibes! ✨ The mesh panels that comes with the flat is an eyesore and I can only imagine the dirt and d

Neutral palette bathroom w/o breaking the bank!!!
We didn’t have a fix budget for the guest bathroom but all we knew was that we didn’t want to spend so much on it. Hence, we kept some of the original fittings from HDB. Things we kept: • HDB toilet bowl • HDB window panes • 2 HDB tiled walls (lucky us our project had white tiles!!!) Non

One of our best buys!!!
Hello zesties! 🍋 Today, we would like to share on one of our best buys for the house- Our doors 🤭 Our bto unit came without doors as we opted out of the OCS (Optional Component Scheme) way back when we were selecting our unit. Hence, we had to settle our doors during our reno process. Althoug

Small kitchen woes 😪
We have a small kitchen and the best we could do is to hack a part of the wall away to make way for our island dining table! As it is a small space, we could only have cabinets on one side too. 3 non-negotiables for us during the reno process: ✨ Conceal the fugly pipes with a fake cabine

Hiding our hideous bomb shelter!
One non-negotiable for us during the reno process was that we HAD TO conceal the bomb shelter. It really is an eyesore and we’re so glad we managed to hide it well with a fluted panel wall! We even had guests asking “where’s the bomb shelter ah?” 🤭 Here are 3 things you should know- ✨It adds

You have to get this for your bathroom 😝
3 things we love about our shower niche! 🚿 Dedicated space for us to put our shampoo and soap bottles. I like that we don’t have to reach out for the bottles on the floor or install a rack just for them (racks are a pain to clean and get mouldy/rusty easily) Yay to a clutter-free shower area!

Save $$$ by saving space!
Hello zesties! To us, our master bedroom should be a place to rest and relax and we tried to keep it as simple as possible! It consists of just the basic items: ✅ Queen-sized bed ✅ Built in wardrobe with a nook ✅ Curtains ✅ Fan ✅ A/C Our non negotiables: ⭐️ Blackout curtains

Money well spent?
We decided to create a wall niche for the aesthetics and also to have a space for us to display items in our small home! It’s been 6 months since our move but our niche is not fully decorated yet. The top shelf is missing a center piece and we haven’t gotten around to getting it 🤭 PROS: 🍋

Things no one tells you about!
Moving out of our parents house into a new home at age 28 is no doubt one of the most exciting and liberating time of our lives! We can finally decorate our house to our liking, blast our music, walk around the house in our underwear and do whatever we want. Late night Mahjong session on a week

More expensive than hacking down the entire wall?!
Hey zesties! 🍋 We decided to do a half wall with glass panels and glass door instead of going with the common full glass look and here’s why! PROS: ✨ While it would give us the illusion of a bigger space, we disliked the idea of hacking the entire height of the wall and installing full gl

No regrets!!!
We chose a 3 room bto back in late 2017. Everyone around us asked “why not go for a bigger flat?” “not small meh?” but fast forward 5+ years and we have never regretted our decision! Here’s why: 🏠 Increased chances of securing a unit 3 rooms are generally not as oversubscribed as 4 or 5 rooms.

Prepping him for the move!
A little backstory- We adopted Muji in June 2023 when he was 1.5yo. We were still staying with my parents while waiting for our reno to be completed. He was an ex stud dog that got moved from a breeding farm back to the pet shop but couldn’t be sold due to his age. Hence, he was put up for adoption

We tried our best!!!
Guests: “Can you guys do a house tour?” Us: “It’s just like that” We love to joke that our guests can see our entire house from the entryway! Wait but is it really a joke if it’s the truth… 🫢 I must admit though that a 3 room BTO (68sqm/732sqft) is definitely a comfortable size for 2, max

Did we regret our pebbled entryway…?!
The most controversial area of our home! Also a conversation starter with delivery riders 🤭 Among friends and family, remarks range from “OMG SO PRETTY” to “How to clean?” to “OMG not dirty meh” So here we are to share the pros and cons of having a pebbled entryway so you can make an informed

hello! ✨ BTO and life 〰️
Hello #Lemon8SG 🍋! We’re a couple in our late 20s and are first time home owners to a cozy 68sqm 3 room BTO in the east. Japandi was our reno theme but we were not fixated on following it strictly. As long as it looks good, anything goes 🤭 A little back story- we met in 2015, tried our luc
