BTO dog wash Q&A (& extra considerations!)
Hello! 👋🏻 It’s been awhile since our last post because we have been busy travelling and busy with life in general heh 🤭. Since our previous post on our dog wash, we have received some questions about it and we thought it’s time to do up a post to answer them! (1) How much did it cost us? (R

Home Tour #6: Our Dog Wash! 🐶
Being able to squeeze a dog wash into our BTO service yard was such a dream come true!! ✨ The planning process was tedious - gotta see how the piping/drainage in the unit is in real life, plan how to run the inlet and outlet pipes, determine the size of the dog wash required and space planning of y

Reno Talk: 85cm kitchen sink - go big or go home!
This post is for you all out there who are considering what kitchen sink to get! 👋🏻 Our decisions made for our kitchen sink area were purely from our experience from the past 2 years of renting a 1+1. The sink in our previous rented place was so small, only ONE pan could fit in at one time, and

Home Tour #5: Kitchen Reveal 👩🏻‍🍳
After staying in our rented 1BR for 2+ years and prepping food on a counter the size of a chopping board, we knew we wanted to have as much counter space in our kitchen as possible! We achieved this by building an appliance rack in our dry pantry (refer to last pic, will share more in another post)

Home Tour #4: Dining Area 🍽️
Our dining area was one of the biggest challenge we faced when we were doing space planning for our home. If you read our previous post on space planning, you would know that we hacked down one room and made it half its size to create a study for 👨🏻 (who needs a huge study right!). This leaves

HOME TOUR #3: LAUNDRY AREA 🧺
While the majority will choose to keep their service yard untouched during their reno, we prioritised making this space as functional as possible. One side of the yard houses our dog wash and pee tray area (not shown), and the other our laundry area. These are some things we requested which worked

House Tour #2: Living Room
Welcome to our living room! We wanted to keep the space open and cozy as this is where we spend every night watching Netflix after dinner 😅 We customised our sofa (lmk if you want the contact) because it was so hard to find a nice sofa that fits a BTO living room! Happy we did so because we

Home Tour #1: Foyer and Dry Pantry
We built this island to act as a physical separation between the foyer and the dry pantry. The base of the island acts as our shoe cabinet on one side and it houses a power socket on the other side so we can do work/bake on the island. On top of that, we can also use it to host 5-6 guests comfortab

Reno week 9 and 10: We Are Done! 🥹
Yes, yes, and yes, we are finally almost done with renovation! Our ID is busy rectifying defects now and will be handing over the unit tomorrow ~ It will be a lie to say that it’s been a smooth journey. We met with some issues during the process like kitchen cabinet laminate going oos, having

Reno Talk: Kitchen Dutch Door 🚪🫢
Alas, another dog-friendly feature in our new home - our highly anticipated dutch door! Reasons in getting one: (1) Was finding a way to confine the doggos in a space without using a baby gate. We initially wanted to get a built-in pull out gate in our yard but there is no space 🥹 Thankfully w

Reno Week 7 & 8: Ongoing Carpentry
Our carpenters came for 2 whole days and our carpentry was 75% completed! 👀 Are they magicians or what! (We are still missing our island/shoe cabinet at this point.) Carpentry works got delayed by a week because the original laminate we chose for the kitchen cabinet ran OOS. Thankfully the new l

Reno Talk: Oh, So Much To A-Door 🥰🚪
Whoever knew a door can bring with it so many decisions! Background: We opted out of OCS so our unit came without doors but came with door frames (hello HDB what are the door frames for? 👀). With that came a slew of questions which could only be worked out on site: ❔Solid core or semi-solid c

RENO TALK: SINK OR SCREAM
For all you low maintenance people out there who are very bad at cleaning like us 🙈, do consider getting this integrated sink/countertop! Yes laa top/under-mount sinks are more aesthetically pleasing, but sometimes function really outweigh form right? People see for that one day but you deal with t

Wk 4 Reno: Partitions and BTO space configurations
Alas, our big open space has (sadly) almost been subdivided into smaller functional compartments. It was a bittersweet feeling seeing the space get ‘smaller’ but we were also happy that things are moving along. Our BTO layout was most unpopular ones for our estate as the bomb shelter in the middle

We built a dog wash station in our BTO! 🐶

Haters gna hate but the 👩🏻 always loved checkered tiles. We searched high and low for a black and sand marbled pattern tiles in SG (we didn’t want plain white or black tiles). Fortunately we managed to find exactly what we wanted in Hup Kiong! What was even better was that the tiles were of good q

3 weeks into reno and our house has a floor now :’) The mister and I decided to tile our whole house solely because of our pups. Hearsay water will eventually seep through the cracks of vinyl flooring so goodbye cheaper option if we wanna puppy-proof the place 👋🏻👋🏻 (sacrifices you make for your
