“I heard you were a player , okay , lets play a game.

We'll flirt, play fights, talk 24/7, say goodmorning and goodnight every day, give each other nicknames, hang out, talk on the phone for hours, take cute pictures together, make promises to each other and hold each other.

And whoever falls in love first, loses.”
Lyla Tyela Belikov

Ansel Adams

Sarah Dessen
“[Adam picks up the camera] "I have to get a shot of this."
The reaction in the room was swift, and unanimous: every single person except me raised their hands at once to cover their faces. The accompanying utterances, though, were varied. I heard everything from "Please no" (Maggie), to "Jesus Christ" (Wallace), to "Stop it or die" (I'm assuming it's obvious).”
Sarah Dessen, Along for the Ride

“He wanted to live life in such a way that if a photograph were taken at random, it would be a cool photograph. Things should look right. Fun; there should be a lot of fun and no more sadness than absolutely necessary.”
David Nicholls, One Day

“Which of my photographs is my favorite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow.”
Imogen Cunningham

Ray Bradbury
“You'll be found, your nickels, dimes and Indian-heads fused by electroplating. Abe Lincolns melted into Miss Columbias, eagles plucked raw on the backs of quarters, all run to quicksilver in your jeans. More! Any boy hit by lightning, lift his lid and there on his eyeball, pretty as the Lord's Prayer on a pin, find the last scene the boy ever saw! A box-Brownie photo, by God, of that fire climbing down the sky to blow you like a penny whistle, suck your soul back up along the bright stair!”
Ray Bradbury, Something Wicked This Way Comes

David Nicholls
“[He] didn’t like to think of himself as vain, but there were definitely times when he wished there was someone on hand to take his photograph.”
David Nicholls, One Day

Ryan Lilly
“A professional headshot in front of a bookshelf says you're an intellectual. A professional headshot peeking though a bookshelf says you're probably under a restraining order.”
Ryan Lilly

“Discomfort it temporary. A photo is forever.”
Kipling Swehla

Victoria Schwab
“when you take a photograph, things stay still. The way that they were, is the way that they are, is the way that they will always be.”
Victoria Schwab, City of Ghosts

“Many times someone giving you advice is just trying to convince themselves of said advice, this is my advice to you and me." - Vic Stah Milien”

“But it wasn't the photograph that caught her attention. It was what was tucked into the frame.
Dominic's eyes followed hers. And a tinge of color appeared in his cheeks.
Walking over, the butterflies skittering about her stomach, Sylvie reached out and touched the intricate little silhouette portrait of her own face. Her eyes lifted to Dominic's in-the-flesh face, which was currently much stiffer than that paper.
"Pet," he said. "She cut a couple of portraits in here one day when we were talking about Operation Cake. Yours and Mariana's."
"Yes. I saw Mariana's after you gave it to her." She ran her fingers around the paper contour of her plait, dropped her hand to the desk. "You didn't give me mine, though."
"No, I didn't."
"Because... we didn't get along? And you wanted to keep Pet's artwork?"
"I did want to have some of Pet's art." Dominic's jaw ticked. "And somewhere along the line, I wanted that one in particular."
Sylvie swallowed.”
Lucy Parker, Battle Royal

Simone Elkeles
“After we've been dancing awhile and need a breather, we walk off the dance floor. I whip out my cell and say, "Pose for me."
The first picture I take is of him trying to pose like a cool bad boy. It makes me laugh. I take another one before he can strike a pose this time.
"Let's take one of the both of us," he says, pulling me close. I press my cheek against his while he takes my cell and puts it as far away as he can reach, then freezes this perfect moment with a click. After the picture is taken, he pulls me into his arms and kisses me.”
Simone Elkeles, Perfect Chemistry

Manu Larcenet
“The most beautiful images are often the least honest.”
Manu Larcenet, Ordinary Victories

Liz Braswell
“The tree in the last photo turned out to be a flower.
A swaying flower the size of a house (or perhaps the camera and artist were shrunk small) with lips at the end of her petals. Alice wasn't even sure what kind of flower it was; certainly nothing as easily identifiable as a rose or a jonquil. Even a rose or jonquil with eyes.
"Oh, I bet she can sing!" Alice cried.”
Liz Braswell, Unbirthday

Casey McQuiston
“What are you doing? '
'I'm taking a picture of a national gay landmark. ' Alex tells him 'and also a statue.”
Casey McQuiston, Red, White & Royal Blue

“There's a photo on the internet where the 1st man sees 6 & the 2nd man sees the same number as 9 from the opposite direction! Who is correct? The words in that photo, “Just because you’re right doesn’t mean I’m wrong”, mean both are right. However, I strongly disagree! It’s a logical fallacy or mistake. 6 looks like 9 but it’s not 9. Yes, 0 & 8 are the same from both angles. If it’s 6 or 9, it depends on the writer. If I write 6 on the paper, the truth is I’ve written 6 originally. I can’t undo it. If I falsely say I’ve written 9, yet my mind knows I’ve written 6. So, 6 remains true! Similarly, I, as a Muslim, believe it as true there’s 1 Creator, someone from another religion says there’re many gods and goddesses, someone else believes there’s no God etc. Just like 6 & 9, all these beliefs cannot be true together! Only 1 is true and others are false. It’s noble that we all are searching for that absolute truth by maintaining brotherhood & practising our individual religions in this beautiful world!”
Md. Ziaul Haque

Nick Hornby
“I couldn't under stand anything I saw in the picture at all. How could the players care, after the way they had humiliated themselves (and, of course, me) seven days - seven days - before? Why would any fan who had suffered at Wembley the way I had suffered stand up to cheer a nothing goal in a nothing match? I used to stare at this photo for minutes at a time, trying to detect somewhere within it any evidence of the trauma of the previous week, some hint of grief or of mourning, but there was none: apparently everyone had forgotten except me.”
Nick Hornby, Fever Pitch

“My approach was to allow the women most responsible for that transformation in North America to tell their own story, in their own words, and to let the power of their mastery speak clearly through photography.”
Chris Noble, Women Who Dare

Lan Samantha Chang
“In Alf's close-up, he's less than a year old, almost unrecognizably puppyish. He gazes directly at James, head slightly cocked, bat ears unfolded in typical, unceasing alertness. His small black nose is shaped like a heart, the fur on his jowls shimmers, and the blaze on his chest is bright white and fluffy.”
Lan Samantha Chang, The Family Chao

Diane Arbus
“What's left after what one isn't is taken away is what one is.”
Diane Arbus

Kathy Reichs
“The mental Images were liquifying So I could no longer separate what I was recalling from the past from what I'd seen in detailed photos that afternoon. Like life. I've long suspected that many of my memories from childhood Are actually drawn from old pictures, That they are composed of snapshots, A mosaic of celluloids Images reworked into a remembered reality. Kodak cast backwards. Maybe it's better to recall The pass that way. We rarely take pictures of sad occasions.”
Kathy Reichs, Déjà Dead
