The Audi e-tron GT has long been a pretty good car that was just a battery upgrade away from being a great one. Well, Audi has remedied that for the 2025 model year. In fact, by borrowing some parts from the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), Audi has created its most powerful production car, ever.
There are three trims on offer for the 2025 e-tron GT. You have the base S model, the RS, and now the RS Performance. It’s that last one that goes truly wild, courtesy of its newly developed rear axle motor and upgraded front axle motor. The total output is an eye-watering 912 horsepower.
That figure arrives when you press the overboost button. The car unlocks an extra 94 hp for up to 10 seconds. It’s enough thrust to deliver a 0-62 mph run in just 2.5 seconds.
The “lesser” RS and S models make do with just 845 hp and 671 hp, respectively. All three get the new rear axle motor. All three also get upgrades in the braking department, which is good to hear since there’s this much power on tap.
The S model gets larger steel brakes. The RS and RS Peformance models come standard with tungsten carbide-coated brake rotors. However, all three are available with carbon-ceramic 10-piston brakes as an option.
While the car itself is quicker, so too is the charging speed. Despite getting a larger battery pack (97-kilowatt-hour vs. 83.7-kWh), the max charging speed has gone from 270 kW to 320. Interestingly, though, the pack itself weighs a bit less. Audi claims a driving range of 609 kilometers, which translates to just over 378 miles. We will have to see if that number remains that strong when the full U.S.-spec version of the car is revealed, as all of this info is initially based on the announcement of the Euro-market e-Tron GT.
Regardless, it’s exciting to see the upgrades Audi has delivered to this stunning sedan. What was a good car that needed a better battery is now a great car with tremendous power.
