It’s #BeesNeedsWeek! A time to raise awareness of the importance of bees and other pollinators 🐝 🌻 To help #SaveTheBees you could try leaving patches of your garden to grow wild - as Waterwise team member, Nathan, has done! 🌼 🌿 These patches make great nesting and feeding sites for bees, and you don’t need to water them - it's a win-win! 💧 Check out Bumblebee Conservation Trust for more tips to help your local bees 🌻 #DontStepOnABeeDay #SaveWater #Bumblebees #Pollinators

CEO; inclusive, influential, courageous and award-winning leader; 25 years in the water and environmental sectors; does not speak on all-white panels

Absolutely thrilled to meet Defra Water Minister Emma Hardy yesterday on only her second day in post! What a refreshing and open approach - I was finalising a letter to send asking her for a meeting when I received a call from her Private Office offering one! This 'day 2' call really reflects the importance the Minister attaches to tackling water scarcity through ambitious water efficiency - it was fantastic to have a really open conversation about our Waterwise asks (see below). The door feels open for new measures, and we also want to keep the existing commitments to a mandatory label; changes to building regulations; smart meters. Honestly so fantastic to hear the Minister's strong commitment to ambitious water efficiency and to get that early time with her. She's going to be a great Minister, can feel it in my bones. Call for involvement in water saving research interviews and case studies. We are currently running a project to review water saving incentive schemes, in the UK and globally, that encourage businesses to choose and fit water efficient products in their domestic settings, or install other measures such as leak detectors, rainwater harvesting or grey water reuse systems. We are particularly interested in businesses that operate in the Retail, Education, Accommodation and Food/Beverage sectors. If your business operates in one of those sectors, and you would be willing to take part in research interviews that we are conducting, please register your interest by emailing us at engagement@waterwise.org.uk. Alternatively, add your name and company in the comments section below 👇 and we'll be in touch. Interviews will be conducted by our partners Weir: The Agency during September.  We are also keen to hear from you, if you know of any water saving incentive schemes (current or historical) that have or haven't worked. Please send a link to the scheme/case study in the comments section below.  If you would like to be involved in either the interviews and/or by sending information on incentive schemes (and you are happy for us to do so) we will cite you in the final project report. For more details of the project visit: https://lnkd.in/e2ww5jP4
