📝 NewRiver REIT plc REIT acquires Ellandi to create a business with over £2 billion in AUM, as Allan Lockhart, CEO at NewRiver, looks to expand their capital partnerships business growth. Growing its capital partnership business, the real estate investment trust paid £5m with a potential additional £4m to acquire the asset manager, which is currently working on Blackpool town centre’s regeneration and the Strand Shopping Centre in Bootle. Ellandi co-founders and owners Morgan Garfield and Mark Robinson are being kept on as part of the deal. 📬 €80m raised by Citibox to expand their network of smart mailboxes in Spain, led by London-based Growth Credit Partners (GCP) and New York-based CoVenture. Citibox improves the productivity of companies in the sector and contributes positively to the transformation of cities, turning them into more sustainable environments. As all deliveries are made the first time, it translates into fewer delivery van movements, generating less traffic congestion and managing to reduce CO2 emissions by 52% per package delivered during the day and 69% at night. "We have carried out the most important bond issue by a startup in Spain, with the help of large international funds. ✈️ The 'Skyscanner of building materials' start-up, BuildBuddy UK, raises £1m to transform construction with their AI-driven platform. BuildBuddy was co-founded by Jamie Menzies and Alix Baldwin. East Lothian-born Menzies came up with concept after experiencing frustrations with the cost of building materials while managing his own construction company, Zebra Property Group, which has offices in Edinburgh and London. He teamed up with Baldwin, a managing director of price comparison site Funeral Choice, to co-found BuildBuddy. “Raising £1m in seed capital is a huge milestone for BuildBuddy and reflects the confidence investors have in our concept [...].
