Oakleaf Executive hosted our 2nd event with the wonderful Ritika Wadhwa Founder of Prabhaav Global delivering another insightful and reflective session on Cultural Intelligence, which is on point to this years Global Inclusion Week theme! Working with experts like Ritika (who is now also a friend, and a trusted partner), allows us to add value to our networks and talent space. Recruitment can be transactional, if people allow it to be. But that is not our ethos, and never will be! Thank you to everyone who attended today and thank you to Ritika. 💡I liked the last line in this article: 'Nice' companies finish last. Kind ones finish first "Nice" is a word I try and avoid using (I emphasise the word try here😉) Many firms pride themselves on having a "nice" culture; yet this can lead to vague communication and fear of offending can inhibit potential progress. However, 'kindness' is deeper and more sincere. Kind leaders inspire and turn feedback into a tool for growth and innovation. In my opinion, embracing kindness over niceness propels an organisation forward, particularly when it comes to recruitment and retention. 🙌🏻

Ok, I'm a day late to celebrate International HR Day! The theme for 2024 is navigating the new future for HR. People leaders are now at the forefront of fostering inclusive, supportive workplaces. They are pivotal in leadership development and driving equality of opportunity. 91% of c-suite and HR leaders recognise the people function has evolved over the last 5 years to play a more strategic role. But it's also vital we support the well-being of HR professionals too and in particular, those who are current seeking their next opportunity in what remains a challenging job market. To all of you, Happy (belated) International HR Day! #InternationalHRDay #HRProfessionals #OakleafExecutive🌍🤝

Great article recently shared with me. It summarises the discussion in our recent TA leaders breakfast perfectly. 💡Despite a glaring skills shortage across organisations, talent acquisition functions are often tactical, with only a third involved in strategic workforce planning. Yet, companies that understand the need for elevated Talent functions are transforming TA into a strategic powerhouse. TA professionals are becoming 'Talent Advisors' and despite the onslaught of AI and evolving technology, this role is becoming increasingly more human centric. In summary, the revamp in TA isn't just an option - it's vital for thriving in today's talent landscape. 🚀 Would love to hear your thoughts on this! #TalentAcquisition #HRStrategy #FutureOfWork
