UK People & Talent job market update, as of late Q2. I'm just back from holiday, so will be making contact with as many of you as I can to discuss the market and progress with your job search. There has been a positive shift in sentiment since Feb this year. The volume and profile of vacancies is beginning to feel more 'normal'. While the People & Talent job market is still challenging, we're seeing signs of improvement and hope this information provides encouragement to those seeking a new role currently. 📈 Hiring demand has settled at a much higher level than H1 2023; even allowing for inflation-adjustments to revenues 😐 Revenue from VC-backed companies flat, and placements heavily weighted towards replacement, rather than newly-created roles up to now... 🆕 Q2 2024 data showing that both of these are shifting for the better 🏖️ Summer may require patience, but broad trend suggests Sept-Nov could a relatively better period for job seekers due to upward trend and lack of holiday-related interruptions 🪙 Uplift in news relating to fundraises and M&A (particularly in Gen-AI), where we are now securing a notable number of new clients

Hawkwood have collaborated with a software engineer to build a Chrome Extension which helps prevent Recruitment teams from unknowingly approaching candidates who are off-limits (working for a client, non-compete, etc)❌ Bycatch is a simple, but effective, solution to a problem that can be very reputationally damaging.
