At Cannes Lions 2024, Pedigree made history with ‘Adoptable’. With 12 million dogs waiting in shelters around the world, Pedigree knew making an ad about adoption wasn’t enough. Using machine learning, it spruced up images of shelter dogs and made every one of its ads into an adoption ad – so the dogs had a chance at finding their forever homes. The result? 50% of featured dogs were adopted in the first two weeks. Last week, Specsavers took home two Grand Prix – by rick-rolling Britain's ears. The work aimed to battle the stigma around hearing loss by uniting the nation over a common experience – misheard lyrics. In the world’s first mass hearing test, it partnered with Rick Astley to re-record ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’, but with lyrics people have been mishearing for years. The result? A nationwide discourse around hearing loss, and a 1220% above target increase in hearing test bookings.
