Prabuthwa Junior Kalashala Movie Review : A cute teenage love story with routine storyline

Critic's Rating: 2.5/5
Story: Vasu (Pranav Preetham) is an Intermediate first-year student at a government junior college who falls in love with Kumari (Shajna Sree Venun). Despite his initial hesitation, he musters the courage to express his feelings and proposes to her. Their love story unfolds with tender moments and highlights their big fight for a happily ever after.

Review: Prabhutva Junior Kalasala is a typical but cute love story set against the backdrop of a government college. The teenage romance, featuring nostalgic moments like cycling and library encounters, keeps you engaged throughout. The second half dives into an emotional narrative revolving around the classic socio-economic divide between a poor boy and a rich girl. However, the film lacks a strong conflict point, and certain scenes seem to drag, with family sentiments that might bore some viewers. The comedy feels forced and unnecessary at times.

Pranav Preetham shines in the role of Vasu, portraying an ordinary student with natural charm. Shajna Sree Venun impresses as Kumari with her acting chops. Their chemistry is cute and refreshing. The supporting characters like Mallika Jagula, Sri Munichandra, Ram Patas, Teja Goud and others deliver decent performances.

Director Srinath Pulakuram does a commendable job for his debut, especially given the small budget. Although it is a routine story, certain sections keep the film engaged. The music by Karthik Rodriguez and the cinematography stand out. Overall, the film is a decent one-time watch, only if you are into the romance genre.
