CHENNAI: Chennai airport introduced DigiYatra system on Friday with which passengers will be able to enter the domestic terminals and complete the check-in and boarding process using face-recognition.
The facility will be available for registered passengers in the two domestic terminals (T1) and (T4).
Passengers of IndiGo, Spice Jet and Akasa can use it at the T1 domestic terminal.
Air India, Vistara and Air India Express passengers can use it at T4 domestic terminal.
This state-of-the-art service will ensure smoother and efficient passage for domestic passengers as it uses face as the ID of passengers and will significantly reduce the time spent in queues at entry gates, pre-security handling areas and boarding gates.
Travellers have to install the DigiYatra app on their mobiles to use the service.
