NEW DELHI: JD(S) MLA and former Karnataka Minister H D Revanna has described the allegations against his son, MLC Suraj Revanna, of sexually abusing a male party worker as a "conspiracy." Suraj Revanna was arrested in Hassan on Sunday for charges of "unnatural offences" involving a male party worker. Former MP Prajwal Revanna, Suraj's brother, is also in police custody on separate charges of sexually assaulting several women.
Suraj was booked on Saturday under different sections of the IPC, including "unnatural offences," for allegedly sexually abusing a party worker a few days ago.
H D Revanna expressed his faith in both the judiciary and God, refraining from making any immediate comments. He emphasized that he would reveal everything when the time is right.
"I won't react to anything. Let the (CID) do it (the investigation). Who said don't (investigate)? I won't say anything on this. I have respect for the judiciary. I know what's happening in the state," said Revanna.
While speaking to reporters, H D Revanna reiterated his faith in the judicial system and indicated that time would bring clarity.
"I won't react to anything. I have faith in God and the judiciary. I won't fear such conspiracies. I know what it is, time will decide."
When probed about who might be conspiring against his son, Revanna deflected the question.
"I don't know, you (media) will have to tell -- who, what. I will leave it to you. . .will face it, judiciary is there. Suraj has gone (to police), everyone knows what all has happened in the last couple of days."

Regarding the complaint against Suraj, Revanna said,
"I don't know what it is. Time will come, when time comes I will tell everything."
Suraj Revanna, who is 37 and the grandson of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, has denied the allegations categorically. He has accused the complainant of extorting him for Rs 5 crore by filing a false complaint.
On Friday, police registered a case of extortion against the JD(S) worker based on a complaint by Suraj Revanna's close aide, Shivakumar.
Union Minister and state JD(S) chief H D Kumaraswamy distanced himself from the controversy involving his nephew, stating that the law would take its course.
"That issue, why do you ask me? It is not pertaining to me. It is not necessary to react to all those things. Law will take its own course...What do I have to do with it (case)?"
Kumaraswamy asked reporters not to engage him on the matter, advising them to focus on issues concerning the state instead.
“Discuss with me on issues concerning the state. Why discuss with me about it, what is the need? Law will take its course...why such cases, we will get to know in the days to come."
Suraj's brother, former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, was arrested after returning from Germany last month. He faces allegations of sexually assaulting several women. Prajwal lost his parliamentary seat from Hassan and was taken into custody on May 31 immediately upon his return to India, where he was sought after for cases of rape and intimidation.
H D Revanna and his wife Bhavani are out on bail. They have been accused of kidnapping and detaining an alleged victim of their son Prajwal's sexual assaults.
