The Advanced Membranes and Porous Materials (AMPM) Center is a research center at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Our mission is to reduce the unsustainable energy costs associated with conversion, separation and purification of petroleum and other raw materials to essential commercial products.

Our multizoning strategy created mixed-matrix membranes with asymmetric-filler density, which maximized filler utilization and enhanced solvent flux. The selection of compatible MOF–polymer pairs improved the interfacial adhesion without functionalization. Congrats to Rifan Hardian and the entire team! I am delighted to share that I have been honored with the "Best Poster Award for ES01: Next-Generation EV Battery Materials—Bridging Academic, Government, and Industry Research" at the 2024 MRS Spring Conference in Seattle, USA." I have received a monetary gift sponsored by Georgia Tech, the Advanced Battery Center, Vigor, and the MRS. I am thankful to the Materials Research Society for this recognition. Congratulations to #KAUST Professor of Chemistry Mohamed Eddaoudi for receiving the prestigious 2023 Kuwait Prize from Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) in basic sciences in the field of chemistry.
