I'm a software developer, recently retired from Microsoft, where I most recently worked on the Windows Azure Storage team. In the previous 17 years with Microsoft, I worked in areas including English language query processing, speech recognition, and anti-spam e-mail filtering.

My interests include compact knowledge representation, and real-world performance measurement.
