Rounding out our 2024 40 Under 40 Award winners is Mary Lewis. As an Associate Breeder, Mary runs the breeding programs for Zinnia marylandica, Zinnia elegans, Pansy, and Lobelia. Every day, she works to create new varieties that benefit both growers and consumers. And fun fact: in addition to her breeding work, Mary is the model in our latest Delta Pro ad. Mary has dramatically impacted Syngenta Flowers' breeding by leveraging her ability to problem-solve and communicate, her experience in perennial breeding, and her endless creativity. When asked what advice she'd give other young horticulture professionals, she said, "I have learned that no matter how good your schooling was, there's going to be a lot you don't know about process, theory, industry standards, ways of working, etc. So, be prepared to go in with a learning curve. It's normal, everyone has it, and if a good team surrounds you, you'll pick it up quickly. " Congratulations to Mary on receiving a 40 Under 40 award! Meet Lee Harding, one of our 2024 40 Under 40 award recipients. Lee is based at our Alva, FL site and works as a Research & Process Improvement Manager for Vegetative Production. She coordinates with different teams daily to generate, test, and implement ideas to improve product quality, increase efficiency, and trial new products. One of our favorite things about Lee is how she approaches challenges with a growth mindset and isn't afraid to think outside the box. When asked what advice she'd give other young horticulture professionals, she said, "Be curious about what your team does even if it's outside your role scope. It builds your capacity to support others and broadens your understanding of how the business operates." Congratulations to Lee on receiving a 40 Under 40 award. Over the weekend, members of the Young Plant production team in De Lier (NL) took part in the annual Flower Corso Boat parade. They adorned a schuit (traditional Dutch boat) with a variety of Syngenta Flowers, following a pollinator theme. Their hard work paid off as they secured the second place! 🌼🥈 #syngentaproud

The 26th Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing ended successfully last week for Syngenta Flowers. Global Head of Syngenta Flowers Mark Schermer and Head of Flowers APAC Mallikarjun Mangrule both joined the Chinese team during the trade fair. Mallikarjun: “We were excited to welcome so many growers to our booth.
