On Tuesday night we put on an incredible EA SPORTS FC24 tournament in the Eiffel Tower to encourage the global gaming community to join the #ENDPOLIO campaign with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Paris Saint-Germain! Working with our colleagues in the M&C Saatchi Group and M&C Saatchi World Services, the campaign combined the power of passions and the power of our combined Group to cut through to a hard to reach audience. It delivered an authentic and strong message of support to continue the fight to eradicate polio globally from the French gaming community. Read more about the campaign below! -- To capture the attention of gamers, we created @P0L__10, a seemingly unbeatable esports player who started tormenting players online in the preceding days, as speculation started to run rife as to their identity. Working with content creators Les Twins and a team of influencers, they announced an event to reveal their identity, inviting their community to join them in Paris and on their live Twitch stream. Players from PSG Esports joined the group as they competed to find out who would be the one to try and beat P0L__10, however just before the final, it was revealed that P0L__10 was actually an alias for ‘POLIO’. Our event graphic transformed on screen, followed by a video from Bill Gates and the President of France, Emmanual Macron, announcing the €55 million contribution from Agence Française de Développement and a powerful introduction to an iconic figure in the breakdancing scene, Junior Bosila Banya, who contracted polio when he was 3. Les Twins summed the campaign up perfectly, “the young, vibrant esports community in France is strong and capable, and tonight we showed that when we rally behind a cause we can make great things happen.” Huge thanks to PSG Féminine for adding some star power to the event and all the other parties that contributed to the success of the campaign.
