US-based SewerAI has secured €14 million Series B funding. The round was led by Innovius Capital and will enable the company to develop its cloud-based AI and photogrammetry-driven subscription products. The funding is planned for go-to-market expansion, AI model training, hiring, and expanding the company’s product portfolio to move beyond its current focus on tools inspection. US-based water and wastewater treatment company, Ovivo, will isolate and destroy per-fluoroalkyl and poly-fluoroalkyl (PFAS) using a combination of ozone foam fractionation processes and electrochemical oxidation technology. Ovivo acquired its electrochemical oxidation technology for onsite PFAS destruction following its acquisition of E2metrix in February 2024. The company has now signed an agreement with Australia-based Evocra that will allow it to ‘manufacture and commercialise the combined technologies on a large scale’. The deal means both processes can be combined onsite to offer PFAS isolation and destruction water and wastewater treatment plants across North America. #Water #PFAS #NorthAmerica #Wastewater

Norwegian start-up Waterise will supply water to the Jordan Phosphate Mines Co.PLC via an environmentally friendly deep sea desalination project in the Gulf of Aqaba. Waterise’s subsea desalination solution combines reverse osmosis technology with off-the-shelf subsea equipment sourced from Norwegian suppliers. The company states that it uses 30-40 per cent less energy than conventional desalination, with a project lifetime reduction in carbon emissions of more than 50 per cent. The solution comprises of modules located on the seabed, 400 meters below the surface, each with a capacity of 50,000 m3 per day.
