As the week in music comes to a close, Hypebeast has rounded up the best projects for the latest installment of Best New Tracks.

This week’s lineup is led by Eminem, Clairo and Zacari, who each released the albums The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), Charm and Bliss, respectively. Also joining this selection are offerings from Tommy Cash with Salvatore Ganacci, Rema, Mavi, Alesso with Nate Smith, Remi Wolf, JOBA and SG Lewis with Loods.

Eminem – The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)

Eminem bids goodbye to his beloved alter ego in his 12th studio album, The Death of Slim Shady. The 20-track album features guest appearances from Big Sean and BabyTron, and production work from the likes of Dr. Dre, Luis Resto, Foulmouth and the rapper himself, to name a few. Em’s 12th studio album serves as a concept album and almost an homage to the notorious character who plagued pop culture for years. Its lyricism fuses the very best of both Eminem and Slim Shady, and hears him addressing his own antics while aggrandizing his own notoriety.

Zacari – Bliss

TDE’s Zacari officially delivers his debut studio album Bliss, featuring the likes of James Fauntleroy, Ty Dolla $ign, Ab-Soul, Doechii and more. “I see myself as a wanderer. I feel everything deeply sometimes too deeply. I like to make life music. Love and hate and how it relates to life and death,” he shares in a statement. “I first really fell in love with music when leading my church worship team in 7th grade. I learned then that talent needs purpose and my intentions is always healing. I want my music to be place people can run to. I may not have answers in my music but I think I have important questions.”

Rema - HEIS

Afrobeats star Rema is back with HEIS, his second studio album. The record features the dynamic “BENIN BOYS” track featuring fellow Nigerian star Shalipoppi, and is described as a record that “is an exploration of the genre pioneered by luminaries that came before him but made new using sampling and modern instrumentation.”

MAVI – “i’m so tired”

MAVI continues the rollout for his upcoming album shadowbox, out August 9, with his second single “i’m so tired.” He says of the new album,  “I was really sad about the last album. I didn’t really know how to get back into making stuff into the way I like. I felt really hopeless about it, started getting really drunk, dealt with love and heartbreak, having to be there for my family. I had to come back and really learn how to make art all over again.” He continues, “My path back was centered around visual art, fashion, interior design, and design as an artistic framework and as an organizational force in society. A lot of the backbone of the album came from my time with this design book, ‘The Black Experience in Design.’ The idea I gained from that is design is power. The ability to determine the order of things, the way things are supposed to be…that’s power. The orderliness in the lives of the devoutly religious became an attractive subtext during the creation of this album.”

Remi Wolf - Big Ideas

Remi Wolf has Big Ideas for her sophomore studio album, with the artist calling her project her “mid 20s coming of age album.” She adds, “It documents all my wild nights, situationships, and jet lagged high highs, low lows and evolving thoughts on my identity and purpose in this world. ALL THE BIG IDEAS!!! Also it sounds sick af and was very fun to make. Please enjoy my children.”

Alesso x Nate Smith – “I Like It”

Alesso enlists rising country star Nate Smith for the collaborative track “I Like It,” a summer-ready anthem just dying to be added to the playlist rotation. “I’ve always been a big fan of the crossover between Rock/Country and Dance music. We set out to make a fun song for everyone to party to this Summer and Nate delivers an amazing performance on the song. We’re excited for the world to hear it!” Alesso says in a statement. Smith adds, “Alesso is an absolute force and I’ve been a fan of his for a while. I was sooooo excited when he asked me to hop on this song. It’s just one of those songs that you’ll instantly sing along to and put you in that party mode. Who could say no to that?”

SG Lewis x Loods – “Paradise”

SG Lewis joins forces with Loods for the new single, “Paradise.” He says of Loods, “Loods is one of my favourite creators of euphoric house music – every track of his transports the listener to somewhere tropical. ‘Paradise’ is a collaboration between the two of us that is reminiscent of 2000’s Hedkandi classics.” Loods describes the track as “the embodiment of the mutual obsession Sam and I share for the golden era of Ibiza – whenever that was. Or, perhaps it’s now?” He adds, “That’s the idea behind the song, anyway; a sound that echoes the white isle 20 years ago as much as it does this coming summer. Hedonism, escapism, and unshackled love, bathing in the warmth of a sun rising over the ocean; that’s the spirit of Paradise.”

JOBA – “American Fever”

JOBA officially announces his debut studio album with the official release of “American Fever,” a cut he previously debuted with a live performance video. “A war cry. This song is a beast to interpret, it’s perfectly specific and satirically defiant. ‘American Fever’ is a riff on absurd normalcy and global disillusionment. I want the song to be a mirror, I want to be a mirror,” he says.
