German nouns and third-person pronouns have an inherent gender, which is determined by the rightmost part of a compound or derivate. That means, derivative suffixes also carry a gender. Attributes like adjectives and participles inflect by gender to comply with their substantive (“KNG-Kongruenz”). Gender doesn’t always agree with natural sex.
