The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) department at Vestas plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing safety, health, and environmental standards across the company's operations. The department's primary focus is on deploying Vestas' safety strategies and fostering a zero-accident culture within its facilities and projects.

Key responsibilities of the HSE department include ensuring a safe working environment, supporting management with HSE issues, facilitating safety group meetings, coaching the safety organization, and investigating accidents to implement corrective actions. The team works closely with various stakeholders to develop and implement HSE procedures and standards, aligning them with international regulations and ISO standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols for onshore wind energy projects
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Provide safety training to employees and contractors
  • Incident Management
  • Ensure that Vestas' operations comply with all relevant safety laws and standards
  • Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incidents, and training sessions
  • Prepare regular safety reports for management

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field. (Sicherheitsfachkraft)
  • Some years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the renewable energy or construction industry

Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in high-risk environments, including heights and remote locations
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proficiency in both German and English

Location: Husum preferred, Berlin or Hamburg, DE

Up to 30% travel might be required per year.
