Commercial Finance Manager (m/f/d)

We currently employ 100 people at our site in Leverkusen, Germany.

 

We offer an open position to replace the company Commercial Finance Manager who will be retiring in December 2024

 

Function Objectives

Within the scope of the assigned tasks and the overall responsibility, the function shall contribute to ensuring that the company has up-to-date and effective internal controls and processes to ensure the transparency of performance and value flows in the company.                                              

                                                 

Management Tasks  

The employees of the division are to be managed in accordance with management principles and guidelines in such a way that their identification with the company is ensured, that they can perform their tasks independently and that they have sufficient freedom to develop their creativity and innovation.

The job holder is part of the German management team and will be granted full power of attorney after the probationary period.

 

Tasks in Detail:                   

·       Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB and IAS/IFRS/US GAAP

·       Monthly analysis of balance sheet, income statement and statement of cashflows

·       Preparation of rolling forecasts (income statement, balance sheet and cashflow forecast) during the year

·       Internal and external reporting

·       Preparation and monitoring of the full year budget

·       Planning, management, and control of liquidity (liquidity plan)

·       Planning, management and control of foreign currency requirements including corresponding hedging

·       Monitoring and managing working capital (receivables (incl. dunning, credit insurance, credit lines, inventories, liabilities)

·       Control of fixed assets and provisions (1/12 method)

·       Cost management (cost center budgets, variance analyses, countermeasures)

·       Investment return calculations and applications (investment proposal)

·       Calculation of key performance indicators (Total Performance, Delivery Performance, Customer Reject, Machine/Labor Efficiency, SCRAP, Machine Utilization, etc.)

·       Business analyses (sales, contribution margin, ABC, etc.)

·       Participation in strategic business development

·       Contract administration (for company agreements, support of other departments) shareholder resolutions, intercompany agreements, credit agreements, commercial register, land registry)

·       Independent handling of correspondence

·       Manage relationships with lenders, auditing companies, tax consultants (e.g. reconciliation of commercial balance sheet to tax balance sheet), lawyers, insurance companies, tax authorities (e.g. tax audit) etc.

·       Ensuring proper business operations

·       Ensuring the achievement of budget and company targets

 

Competence / Decision-making powers (internal/external):

·       Strong executive presence; able to develop rapport with all levels of the organization

·       Able to work in unstructured environments and to multi-task with good process orientation and  

·       attention to detail without losing sight of the 'big picture' perspective

·       Excellent quantitative / qualitative skills plus the ability to present and communicate ideas in both  

written and oral form

·       High level of energy and enthusiasm; with a flexible work and leadership style that will fully engage all team members

 

Qualifications Required: 

·       Degrees or certifications in Finance or Economics

·       Technically strong (IFRS, HGB)

·       Min. 3 - 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing company (solid knowledge of the processes within a manufacturing / industrial company)

·       Business fluent English

·       IT (MS-Office)
