Chief Information and Operations Officer (CIOO)

Ampersand World (AW Executive Branch), specializing in the recruitment of executive leaders and board members within the commodity trading industry, is seeking a Chief Information and Operations Officer (CIOO) for a leading Swiss financial institution specializing in Commodity Trade Finance (CTF) and related services.

Mission

The Chief Information and Operations Officer (CIOO) will play a central role in implementing the company’s strategy, designing and implementing the IT strategy, and overseeing daily operations. You will work closely with the CEO and other members of the executive team to ensure the smooth functioning of all departments and achieve our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational and Technological Leadership: Develop and lead a comprehensive strategy that supports the company's objectives and cultivates a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusion.
• International Talent Management: Implement recruitment, development, and retention strategies that meet the company's global needs.
• Organizational Development: Lead initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and organizational adaptability on an international scale.
• Culture and Engagement: Build a strong corporate culture emphasizing diversity and inclusion, fostering an open and collaborative international work environment.
• Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with employment laws across different jurisdictions and adhere to global IT and operational best practices.
• IT and Operational Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing team, enhancing leadership and management skills within the department.
• Budget Management: Manage the budgets of the IT and operational departments, optimizing expenditures while maximizing technological investments.
• Strategic Monitoring and Networking: Stay informed about market trends, technological innovations, and competitors' activities.
• Community Engagement and Representation: Represent the company at community activities, meeting and networking regularly with business leaders in the community.

Profile

• Education: Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in operational and IT leadership roles, with proven experience in managing digital transformation projects and cross-functional teams. Successful proven track record in established, larger financial institutions but also in boutique entities, where an entrepreneurial mindset, adaptability, and versatility were crucial.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, information systems, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams, and manage complex projects in dynamic environments.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making abilities.
• Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory; proficiency in German and/or French is required.
• Nationality: EU passport
