Nearly one in three employees (30%) would only accept a job offer if the company offered workation opportunities. Among 18- to 29-year-olds, this figure jumps to 45%. These insights are from a study by PwC. Why should companies invest in workation opportunities? 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 Companies that do not offer workations risk losing qualified talent to competitors and may appear less attractive to potential candidates. Offering workation is not only a competitive advantage in terms of recruitment but also in terms of retention. 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 Changing the work environment from time to time can foster creativity. New impressions and inspiration can lead to innovative ideas and solutions. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 Fostering corporate culture exclusively online can be challenging. Off-sites allow colleagues to meet in person, strengthening the sense of unity, teamwork, and overall corporate culture. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸-𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 According to another PwC study, 81% of respondents stated that workations improve their work-life balance. This leads to greater job satisfaction, motivation, and ultimately higher employee productivity. What do you think about workations? Let us know in the comments! 👇🏼 PS: Check out the comments for our Off-Site Checklist. #MysteryMinds #HR #Workation

How to build trust in a remote company 🤝 Trust often develops naturally in the office. A simple 'Hey, do you want to grab a coffee?' between meetings can start a conversation that builds trust over time. In a remote environment, it's different. Opportunities to build trust must be intentional, as the casual conversations between meetings are missing. But how? In order to build trust, it is important to see your colleagues not just as colleagues but as human beings. Our #MysteryCoffee is the perfect opportunity for us to meet our colleagues for a virtual coffee. It allows us to share ideas across departments regularly, fostering collaboration and continuously sharing our knowledge. What tools do you use to build trust with each other? #MysteryMinds #HR #RemoteWork #culture

Skilled labor crisis? How new regulations are changing the game 🌐 The decline in qualified professionals is due to three factors: ▪️ Demographics ▪️ Digitalization ▪️ Decarbonization The need for more skilled workers is one of companies' biggest challenges⚡ The government has amended the Skilled Immigration Act to make it easier to recruit workers from abroad. Make a difference 🤝 We are proud to be a part of the 'Pledge 1%' initiative, commiting at least 1% of our annual profits to charity. 💡The 1% Pledge initiative encourages companies and individuals to commit 1% of their equity, profits, products, or employee time to support charitable causes and community initiatives. It's a way for businesses to make a positive impact on society. More than 18,000 members in over 130 countries have used the 1% Pledge. To decide where our donation goes, we ask our team which organization they would like to support. Anyone can vote anonymously for an organization. This year, the majority of votes went to CADUS e.V. - International Disaster Response 💚 #MysteryMinds #HR #Pledge1

𝟴 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀. That's the average attention span of a human. That means even goldfish, with an attention span of 9 seconds, beat us by one second. Sound familiar? Microsoft published this in a study in 2015. According to the study, I would have lost you by the third sentence, and you would likely have shifted your attention to something else. Maybe that has already happened. However, this isn't because the human attention span is only 8 seconds; it's more likely because you categorized it as boring or irrelevant. Even though the comparison with the goldfish is clever and certainly grabs attention, the study is viewed critically. Apart from that, our attention span is definitely longer than that of a goldfish. What is true, though, is that the brain has adapted to the flood of information. With so many topics vying for our attention, our brain has become very good at quickly filtering out relevant information and switching between tasks more frequently, also known as 'task switching.' In today's world of information overload and constant distraction, staying focused can sometimes be challenging, especially in a remote working environment. It is essential to become aware of how we use our attention and develop strategies for better focusing on crucial tasks and issues. But how can we focus better? Here are some tips 💡 ✔ 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 to maintain concentration. ✔ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 without distractions. ✔ 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼-𝗱𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 to keep track of tasks and set priorities. ✔ 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 - turn off notifications on your mobile phone and computer during this time. ✔ 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 to maintain collaboration and the information flow. ✔ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 and actively involve participants in the discussions. "𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴." As Socrates once said. ❓What exactly does Socrates' famous statement have to do with adaptability? The world is changing, whether we like it or not. Companies that do not accept change and adapt to new circumstances often fall behind. Statements like 'but that's the way we've always done it' can become an obstacle for companies. 📖 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗡𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗮'𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 Nokia has long been a leader in mobile phones and was very good at reinventing itself until the Nokia brand ended in 2014. But how could this happen? ❗The answer lies in Nokia's 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. The company relied on its brand and its prosperous past. Short-term decisions and the fear of failure shaped the company and prevented an innovation-friendly corporate culture. Nokia's story shows the consequences of resisting change and the importance of keeping moving, allowing innovation, and being prepared for change. Companies that foster a culture of openness to new ideas and continuous learning are better equipped to navigate an ever-changing business world and seize new opportunities. After all, as the saying goes: 'You have to seize the opportunity by the forelock.' This means recognizing an opportunity or chance at the right time and taking advantage of it. And most importantly: Being open to it! ☕ Our regular #MysteryCoffee helps us share new ideas and learn from each other as a team. How are you taking your innovation culture to new levels? 💡 Check out our website for more information. #MysteryMinds #HR #remote #culture

Remote workers are less productive 🤯 If you search the internet for myths about remote work, you will find plenty of them. But what is the truth behind all these myths? As a remote working company since 2013, we want to dispel these myths. ❌ 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵: Remote workers are less productive. "Remote workers are sitting on the couch and watching Netflix." This is the first image that comes to mind when people think of remote workers. ✅ 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: The opposite is the case. Several studies show that remote working can increase employee productivity. A study by Owl Labs shows that 79% of managers believe their team is more productive when working remotely. Remote work allows employees to work from places and at times when they are most focused and productive. It does not result in less productivity but more flexibility, increasing employee motivation and performance. ❌ 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵: Remote workers are lonely. ✅ 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: Working remotely does not have to be lonely. Communication tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams enable collaboration and close dialogue. We use our regular #MysteryCoffee for knowledge sharing and informal dialogue. It helps us to connect across departments and build and strengthen our relationships within the team. #smalltalk is one of the Slack channels we use to stay in touch daily. We often share pictures from our last holiday, stories from our everyday lives, tips, or other work-related and non-work-related topics. ❌ 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵: Remote workers are less loyal to the company. ✅ 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: Many remote workers appreciate the flexibility of time and location and the trust placed in them, which can increase their loyalty to the company. Remote work also offers greater opportunities for work-life balance, which in turn increases employee satisfaction and loyalty.
