Our mission is to build a computer inspired by the human brain to fuel the progress of humankind.
Info
Current hardware for artificial intelligence is inefficient. For today's supercomputer center, it takes a long time, huge datasets and the energy of a whole power plant to train a high-end AI model, resulting in high costs and unsustainability. The problem is rooted in the fundamental architecture of today’s digital hardware itself, since it has nothing in common with the way the human brain works. GEMESYS Technologies offers an analog chip design based on the same information-processing mechanisms as the human brain. This enables AI hardware vendors to distribute a novel chip, that trains neural networks 20,000 times more energy-efficient than current technology. It not only significantly reduces the cost, time and amount of data required to train a neural network, but also increases overall quality as well as performance. Its small size and high energy efficiency allows it to be embedded in nearly every device, enabling decentralized on the edge training, data processing and decision making.

🚀 Successful Trip to Silicon Valley! 🚀 🗓️ Last month, our CEO Dr.-Ing. Dennis Michaelis and our CTO Daniel Krüger had the opportunity to travel to America and attend the Silicon Valley June Summit 2024. 🌟 During their two-week stay, they had the chance to meet some amazing people and engage in incredible experiences. We would like to thank German Accelerator for taking the time to work on our pitch and optimize it for the American market. 💡 Dr.-Ing. Dennis Michaelis and Daniel Krüger also had the remarkable opportunity to meet Gavin Uberti, the CEO of Etched. He provided deep insights into what it’s like to be based in Silicon Valley, recruit talent, and raise funds as an AI hardware startup. In addition to the valuable exchanges, they had the chance to do some sightseeing, including visiting the Stanford University campus and the Hewlett and Packard garage, which is considered the birthplace of Silicon Valley. ☘️ A big thank you goes to WORLDFACTORY International, represented by Vanessa Vaughn, Anne Plitt, and Marc Seelbach, for organizing such a significant event. #SiliconValley #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #Networking #TechStartups Alexander Igelmann from LIDROTEC Michael Mueller from RayVen Jan Löwer and Christoph Siemer from deeplify GmbH Matteo Große-Kampmann from AWARE7 GmbH Christian Els from sentin

🖥️ To train artificial intelligence (AI), vast computing power is essential. The energy consumed during this process can be comparable to that of a small town. Given our current global focus on climate-friendly initiatives, it is important to reduce this significant energy consumption as quickly as possible. 📊 One major contributor to this energy demand is the huge amount of data needed to achieve high-quality AI systems. Handling such extensive data is not only time-consuming, but also requires considerable resources, like memory from the computing platform. High-quality data is crucial, but acquiring, preparing, and maintaining it leads to substantial costs for companies. 🔒 Additionally, the extensive data involved in AI training poses challenges in terms of data privacy and security. Training on devices with limited resources, or "on the edge," is often not possible. Instead, data must be processed centrally via cloud connections before being redeployed to the device. This process makes raw data vulnerable to interception and manipulation. 🔋 GEMESYS addresses these challenges with its innovative analog AI chip. By utilizing integrated analog electrical circuits, this technology is 10,000 times more energy-efficient than current AI hardware. Furthermore, the resulting unique training method of the GEMESYS technology significantly reduces the amount of data needed to achieve the same level of quality. This advancement enables decentralized training directly on the end device, eliminating the need for cloud connectivity and enhancing both efficiency and security.

🚀 Last week we attended the Hinterland of Things Congress in Bielefeld, – the premier fair for B2B entrepreneurship. This was an excellent opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions with like-minded individuals from the start-up ecosystem and expand our network. 🎤 Sascha Lobo's inspiring talk about the potential of artificial intelligence and technology in the German ecosystem left a lasting impression on us. We are thrilled to contribute to the advancement of AI, particularly in Germany. Congratulations to Synctive, the Out of the Box winner! We liked your creative approach and are looking forward to see what you do with the price money! 🙏 Thank you to the team of Hinterland of Things for their efforts and the support of VITO during the preparation time of the event. We are already looking forward to next year and excited about more inspiring encounters and conversations! #HinterlandofThings #Entrepreneurship #Networking #Startups #Innovation

🎉 Happy Birthday, EXIST - Existenzgründungen aus der Wissenschaft! 🥳 As EXIST celebrates its 25th anniversary, we reflect on how pivotal this program has been for us. This day holds special significance for GEMESYS, as EXIST believed in us when no private investor was ready to fund our vision. Thanks to their trust, we were able to develop the crucial proof of concept for our AI approach. 👏🏼 We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz, Projektträger Jülich (PtJ), and EXIST - Existenzgründungen aus der Wissenschaft on this remarkable milestone. The two days in Berlin were insightful and inspiring, reinforcing our belief that targeted support for innovative startups can solve many of today’s challenges over the next 25 years. 🎤 We are also thrilled to announce that we secured second place in the Pitch Battles. Standing alongside such fascinating and solution-oriented startups makes us incredibly proud. 🙏🏼 A huge congratulations to the Worldfactory Start-up Center (WSC) team, in collaboration with BRYCK.COM and Universität Duisburg-Essen, for their recognition in the lighthouse competition. This prestigious award, personally presented by Anna Christmann (Coordinator of the German Federal Government for Aerospace Policy) and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck, is a testament to their innovative work. We eagerly look forward to seeing how this progresses and wish the best for the Bochum and NRW region. 🚀 Lastly, a massive thank you to our mentors Stefan Kausch and Katja Lehmann for their tireless support throughout the program. Without you, we wouldn't be where we are today. 🥂 Happy Birthday, EXIST, and here’s to many more years of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship! #EXIST25 #Innovation #Startups #GEMESYS #AI #Entrepreneurship #Berlin #PitchBattle #FutureTech

🚀 Big announcement incoming - stay tuned for more details 🚀 📢 We are thrilled to announce the successful tape out of our first fully analog AI chip! 📈 This is a huge step forward from our initial prototype, which was just a single self-organizing synapse. While achieving this milestone, we have managed to shrink the size of a single synapse by an incredible 6.5 million times, reducing it to a fraction of a human hair. 🧠 This breakthrough in miniaturization has allowed us to integrate thousands of self-organizing neurons and synapses onto a single chip. By interconnecting these neurons and synapses, we've developed a fully analog neural network for handwritten digit recognition. 📱 For the first time ever, our chip will demonstrate AI training and inference for (mobile) devices with limited resources and paves the way for powerful, efficient AI applications to an unprecedented extent. #AI #Chip #ChipTapeout #Mobiledevice #GEMESYS Dr.-Ing.
