❗Three common mistakes when entering the German healthcare market❗   In our work, we often advise international start-ups and companies that want to enter the German market. This is understandable - despite some regulatory hurdles, Germany offers attractive scaling and reimbursement opportunities. However, we often observe three misconceptions that make successful market entry difficult:   1️⃣ "A sales distributor is enough to be successful." ☝ Unfortunately not. Without personal commitment and market customisation, sustainable success is unlikely. A solid network and understanding of the German healthcare system are essential.   1️⃣ "I know one market access channel and that is enough" 🚫 Not always. There are often better options that are faster and offer higher reimbursements. It is important to examine different access routes and reimbursement options.   3️⃣ "English is enough to get by in the German market." 🗣 Unfortunately not. German-speaking contacts and well-translated documents are crucial to build trust and facilitate interaction with local players.   Germany is an exciting market. Three days of HAUPTSTADTKONGRESS, exciting panels, great conversations, and fresh insights. Our healthcare system faces many challenges – but there are also countless innovative solutions and new ideas. Representing us on-site were Karen Piontek and Serap Konak.    This year, as part of the event, the first #HSK Innovation Pitch took place, which we at Flying Health were pleased to support together with KPMG and Springer Medizin.    After the Pre-Pitches, the four finalists - myScribe GmbH (Ira Romy Alice Stoll), sqior medical (Philipp Wolf), AMMEVA GmbH (Dr. med. Franz Koettnitz), and biopeak GmbH (Jonathan Chmiel) - had the chance to present their solutions in front of leading experts in the healthcare industry.   In the end, it was Biopeak that impressed the jury of scientific leaders – Dr. Matthias Bracht, Dr. med. Iris Hauth, Vera Lux, and Wolfgang von den Bergh – the most and was awarded first place. Congratulations to the entire team. 🚀 What an exciting week it has been for our team at the inaugural HLTH Europe conference in Amsterdam! 🌟 Florian K. and Laura Nelde had an amazing time filled with thought-provoking talks, panels, and networking events. It was wonderful to reconnect with partners and colleagues while also forging new connections. A highlight of the week was Laura kicking things off with a market access workshop on entering Germany. She was joined by Dorothée Marie-Louise Doepfer (BIH Digital Health Accelerator), Michael Huebner (Sana Kliniken), and Gandolf Finke, PhD (Mika). Together, they shared valuable insights into the complexities and rewards of navigating the German healthcare system. The takeaway: it’s complex, but worth it! 💡 TRUST was the word of the conference, resonating throughout all interactions and discussions. Trust emerged as a crucial theme, not only in AI but also in DTx-driven behavior change. Yesterday, our Senior Consultant Ann-Kathrin von Knobloch (Weigand) had the pleasure of being part of the startup jury at MedtecLIVE in Stuttgart. Out of approximately 50 initial applications, 8 startups had the opportunity to pitch their product and get evaluated by the expert jury consisting of Marco Wendel, Jan Engels, Peter-Georg Lutsch, Alexander Rehn and Christian Dorn.
