Update on our Nepal Improved Cookstoves project🔥🇳🇵 In partnership with the ClimatePartner Foundation and Die Ofenmacher e.V., our recent local stakeholder consultation had an impressive attendance of 96 participants! 🙌 The enthusiasm and support for the project were evident, with some attendees starting their journey as early as 3 a.m. to join us. It was inspiring to see such dedication and positivity towards the project's expansion. We had a robust discussion, and it was clear that everyone sees the immense value and benefits the improved cookstoves bring, especially in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this meaningful dialogue! Our project developers Shamil Sameer and Dincer Huseyin co-hosted the event and held interactive sessions. Here’s what Shamil had to say: "Participating in the local stakeholder consultation has given us a deeper understanding of the community's hardships. This experience motivates us to continue to contribute effectively to solving their problems. A significant portion of Nepal's population still relies on three-stone or traditional stoves as their primary cooking devices. These households typically have very small kitchens, where people suffer from smoke-filled rooms due to the traditional methods. We are truly happy to be part of a project that, with your support, will make a real difference in their lives.” #beyondcarbon #communitydevelopment #SDGs #climateaction #socialimpact

Powering not only homes but also health, education, and economic growth in Togo – get to know our project of the month! This solar power plant is one of the largest in West Africa and helps to make the country less reliant on fuel imports. The project provides clean electricity to nearly 160,000 homes and businesses and impacts the lives of the local people in many positive ways: 🏥 Healthcare: A new clinic in Blitta serves more than 700 patients annually, improving local health services. 📚 Education: The project has built three primary schools, giving 750 children access to quality education every year. 💼 Employment: The project creates jobs for the operations and maintenance of the power plant and fosters economic growth in the region. The Blitta solar power plant project is developed by our local partner EMEA with technical support from ClimatePartner Impact. What does “beyond carbon” really mean? In this case, the positive social impact of our Eastern Cape Bamboo Revegetation project in South Africa goes beyond the carbon sequestration benefits of bamboo. 🌱 Creation of Livelihood Opportunities: The Eastern Cape has the highest unemployment rate in the country. Bamboo cultivation creates significant employment opportunities. By providing seasonal and long-term jobs, we are boosting economic stability in communities with limited opportunties. 🌱 Empowerment of Women: Increased community spending on critical development aspects such as health and education empowers women and promotes inclusivity. When women thrive, the entire community benefits. Beyond carbon means sequestering emissions but also building resilient, empowered communities 🌍 #beyondcarbon #SocialImpact #CommunityDevelopment

We are always learning and updating our knowledge and between the experts on our team, we could write an encyclopaedia. 😎 This month, we’ve been sharing with you our Rwanda Bamboo River Restoration, and this one also came with its own special vocabulary. Q: Do you know what a “riparian buffer zone” refers to? A: The term "riparian" refers to the area or ecosystem that is situated along the banks of a river, stream, creek, or other body of water. Riparian zones are transitional areas between aquatic and terrestrial environments. These areas are characterised by unique plant and animal communities that are adapted to the specific conditions found near water sources. Riparian zones play crucial roles in maintaining water quality, stabilising stream banks, providing habitat for wildlife, and supporting overall ecosystem health. This zone is the focal point of the Rwanda Bamboo River Restoration project, and restoring this environment results in numerous benefits for the local communities as well as the global climate goals. That’s what we call impact! Follow us to learn more about this and other projects that are creating impact both locally and globally. #climateaction #climateimpact #bamboo #NbS
