ScratchEd Online Community

Although the Scratch online community has a large and active membership, it was not designed primarily to support educators; it was designed for people who want to create and share projects, while educators are primarily concerned with helping other people create projects. In response, we designed the ScratchEd Online Community, a space for teachers to share stories, exchange resources, ask and answer questions, and find other educators.

From May 2009 until May 2019, more than 27,000 educators who support learning with the Scratch programming environment shared 354 stories, 1,027 resources, and 4,749 discussion posts in the ScratchEd Online Community. During that time, ScratchEd received 10.35 million page views from 2.5 million unique visitors.

Although ScratchEd is now closed to new members and contributions, you can still explore these 10 years of discussions, resources, and stories. The ScratchEd spirit continues in two other key initiatives: Scratch Educator Meetups and the Teaching with Scratch Facebook group.
