The Handelsblatt Research Institute has once again identified Germany's top personnel consultants, and MU is keeping its place as one of the top 40 recruitment consultancies. In collaboration with The IQ Company, The Handelsblatt Research Institute has identified the 40 leading HR consulting companies of 2024. They used the reviews of over 20,500 employees from 2,800 companies as well as the opinions of around 48,000 managers and human resources managers. Whilst doing the review, Handelsblatt also took the opportunity to do a study to look at the biggest challenges that recruiters currently face. The need for AI experts is reflected in the study, where AI and robotics have significantly risen in importance among industry topics. The study also identifies digitalisation and sustainability as top priorities for HR consultants in Germany, reflecting the country's need for managers capable of driving structural change. I'm not a fan of missionizing or being instructive, I value my personal freedom and respect everyone's own opinion way too much. Nevertheless, would love to share 3 initiatives/projects I came across in the last days which really made an impression on me. In case you can relate, glad you can. In case you can't, maybe it's still some food for thought. 1) I watched one of the most telling/revealing, yet super calm & cool-headed, political documentaries in quite a while: the 2022 look-behind-the-scenes of German right wing party AfD from Simon Brückner: https://lnkd.in/esxB6dYv 2) I learned how Google's Jigsaw unit is helping to prevent (or at least reduce the harm of) disinformation, harrassment and online fraud. Their new campaign gets pushed heavily via yt and their wider network currently: https://lnkd.in/edRWV5MN 3) I realized how widespread the problem of cyberbullying is nowadays and how deep it can cut into childrens' souls - see the recent study from World Health Organization. "Silver workers" are often forgotten in DEI discussions, and face discrimination throughout the employee journey. While we commonly speak about barriers in hiring, if they are hired, they experience workplace discrimination (predominantly from leaders 🤯). Interesting German-focused study on the topic shows: - 57% reported discrimination from their manager - 35% reported discrimination from peers - Primary infractions were: being given tasks that they are overqualified for (42%), reduction of responsibility or scope (41%) and blocked access to continuing education (31%) - 54% do not report it This is a lost opportunity, as most companies could greatly benefit from not just the experience of older workers, but also the emotional intelligence they bring. Today is German Diversity Day 2024! 🤗 Contabo still has a lot to do on the subject of #diversity. But we're on it. We joined the Charta der Vielfalt e.V. this year and are delighted to be part of Germany's largest diversity network. 😍 In doing so, we are creating awareness for the topic and sending a signal both internally and externally. In particular, our aim is to create a working environment that is free from prejudice and that values all our employees regardless of: 🔹 age, ethnic origin and nationality, 🔹 gender and gender identity, 🔹 physical and mental abilities, 🔹 religion and ideology, 🔹 sexual orientation and social background. Help we are drowning! 🌊 😵 Fortunately, it's not that bad - but it was still time for Q Talent Hub to implement a new applicant tracking system. Together with Daniel Schaefer, I went on a hunt to find a suitable tool for our services. 💡 After we: - analyzed what is currently bothering us or missing in the processes - defined the requirements - carried out several demos with various ATS providers It quickly became clear that we want to work with Recruiterflow! ✨ Why? Thanks to Manan Shah and Divine Savia Pereira we immediately felt comfortable. How quickly does the future become the present? Never not learning, never not curious. This will be the title of my keynote today being part of the HR Minds conference organized by business factors Deutschland GmbH, taking part the next two days at Schloss Bensberg where HR decision makers will come together. I chose this title as curiosity and learning are two aspects which play a major and continous role in my life. I will talk about why organisations should choose the way of becoming learning organisations and what this actually mean. Is it just the next buzzword of the HR bubble? Well, I doubt it BUT of course – it depends. As always. It depends how serious we take it and if we succeed in transforming our #workforce into a #skillforce. When it comes to learning we quickly talk about systems, tools, platforms or strategies as HR departments - important and right, no doubt. My keynote will go a few steps back talking about the basics of learning cultures and in parallel aims to create new hypothesis when it comes to future-oriented learning. I am convinced there is one question in particular we might address and understand in depth when it comes to learning. How quickly does the future become the present? When is knowledge real knowledge? When is knowledge you have acquired deeply learned, i.e. relevant for you, for your organisation and hence for the planet? #Knowledge is relevant when it gets #shared, when we #dream in #problems and #think in #interdisciplinary worlds. All what I will combine in my keynote and will share more thoughts afterwards. Of course, having my recent trip to #China in mind, and still being overwhelmed and so inspired, I will share my thoughts on what we could learn from China’s learning culture. 🚀🌟 I Love Being a Leader – Do You? ❤️ A recent survey by the Initiative Chef reveals that many actually shy away from leadership roles due to stress, pressure, and long hours. These concerns are especially prevalent among women and older employees. However, I want to challenge this perception and encourage especially women to embrace leadership! At my company at konversionsKRAFT AG, we thrive on a 36-hour workweek, and yes although there are busy times, but the idea that leadership always means constant stress needs to change now. 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠. 🤗 We have numerous positive examples of leaders in our company who manage their roles effectively and joyfully. These examples should inspire and motivate us all. To create real change in this world, we need courageous individuals which are eager to develop others. A good leader can significantly impact many lives and careers positively. -> So please let's highlight the positive aspects of leadership and create attractive conditions for leaders.
