Founded in 1988, the International AIDS Society (IAS) is the world’s largest association of HIV professionals.
Info
We convene, educate and advocate for a world in which HIV no longer presents a threat to public health and individual well-being. The IAS has been at the centre of the HIV response from the very start of the pandemic. We unite the global HIV response because progress happens when science, policy and activism come together. Today, the IAS galvanizes the scientific response, builds global solidarity and enhances human dignity for all those living with and affected by HIV. The IAS also hosts the world’s most prestigious HIV conferences: the International AIDS Conference, the IAS Conference on HIV Science and the HIV Research for Prevention Conference.

🌐 It is imperative that researchers are held accountable to the communities in which they work, that they centre community voices and that they work towards the co-creation of knowledge, defining programme success and measuring programme impact. The Journal of the International AIDS Society (JIAS) has launched a new supplement, titled “Re-shaping landscapes to support embedded, programme science to improve population-level impact for HIV and STBBI programming: A call for transformative action”. The supplement is guest edited by Marissa L. Becker, (University of Manitoba), Maryam Shahmanesh (UCL) and Sevgi Aral (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). This collection of articles presents work from various global contexts and uses examples to demonstrate the operationalization of programme science. Access all off the articles for free now! 👇
