At this year’s Agroinsurance International LLC. Conference AIAG President Pascal Forrer was invited to give an overview of the European agricultural insurance market. The conference was held in Belgrade, Serbia, from June 3 to 5, 2024, with the aim of fostering dialogue among stakeholders in the agricultural insurance market, particularly on opportunities and challenges in fast-growing developing markets and in the area of technological innovation, such as soil monitoring. The EBIC (European Biostimulants Industry Council) Summit took place on June 12, 2024, in Brussels. EBIC's annual summit aims to bring together policy makers, food chain leaders, NGOs and academics to discuss how to meet the growing demand for food in the face of many challenges. Pascal Forrer, President of AIAG, represented the crop insurance industry at the "Managing Climate Risks" roundtable and explained its significant contribution to stabilising farmers' incomes and the importance of making agriculture in general more resilient in the face of climate change. Last Friday, the AIAG Loss Adjusters’ Committee met in Madrid to discuss the next loss adjusters’ seminars and important topics relating to damage assessment. Elsa S. from AGROSEGURO has been president of the commission since 2018. The other committee members are professionals from insurance companies in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, France, Israel, Poland, the Netherlands, Turkyie, Spain, the United States and ALASA from South America.   Together with the AIAG secretariat, the commission is responsible for organizing the loss adjusters’ seminar, which takes place in a different country each year. In regular meetings, the committee exchanges information on the organisation of the seminar, as well as on experiences and further developments in the field of loss assessment. #aiag #lossadjusterscommittee #meeting #madrid

We are pleased to announce that Pascal Forrer was appointed AIAG President for a further two years at the last General Assembly in November during the AIAG Congress. He has been President of the AIAG since 2019 and has since then achieved outstanding successes and contributed to the further development of AIAG.   He has over 30 years of experience in the agricultural insurance sector and was CEO of Schweizer Hagel from 2006 to 2022.   We are looking forward to the next two years with Pascal Forrer as AIAG President and the many exciting upcoming events. #aiag #president #board

The second day of the AIAG Congress started with an exciting presentation by Dr. Mario Winkler, Österreichische Hagelversicherung, on the topic "Fast and comprehensive communication for a stable agricultural sector using the example of the Austrian Hail Insurance company". Afterwards, the participants discussed in two different breakout sessions the topics of index insurance, livestock insurance and public-private partnerships and their future developments. In the second part of Tuesday morning, five agroinsurtech companies had the opportunity to pitch their products and solutions. Around 350 participants attended the opening ceremony of the 37th AIAG International Congress in Geneva on November 13, 2023. Pascal Forrer, President of AIAG, and Adrian Aebi, Director of Schweizer Hagel, as well as Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin warmly welcomed the attendees. Yaelle Cruchon and Alexis Tissot spoke about the challenges of agriculture from their own personal experience as farmers. Bernard Lehmann, Chairman high level panel of experts to the UN, talked about food security and the important contribution of insurers. Michael Feitknecht, Fenaco, and Christoph Carlen, Agroscope, gave an in-depth insight into the Arable Farming 2035 project, which deals with the adaptation of agriculture to climate change.
