Last week, we did not just reconfirm the commitment of Europe’s airports to Net Zero by 2050 at the latest (https://shorturl.at/Pjyt4). We published the roadmaps towards Net Zero developped by 303 airports across 36 countries on our ACI EUROPE repository (https://shorturl.at/4ZtyE). This is truly meaningful: 1. It shows our industry commitment is not just words on a piece of paper - it is about concrete action. 2. It brings Europe’s airports in line with the United Nations Guidance on Net Zero pledges, which recommends that net zero commitments should be backed by publicly disclosed and actionable plans. So many thanks to all our member airports for supporting us in this collective disclosure - which is quite unprecedented. For most of these airports, their commitment and roadmaps are underpinned by their certification under Airport Carbon Accreditation. While our industry commitment is primarily focused on those emissions directly controlled by airports - scopes 1&2, it acknowledges the imperative to also address emissions facilitated by airports - scope 3, in particular those from aircraft using our facilities. For that, certification requirements under Airport Carbon Accreditation have evolved over time. The higher certification levels now require airports to fully map their scope 3 emissions and to actively engage with their stakeholders to reduce them. We will of course keep the programme’s requirements under constant review - with the support and guidance of its Advisory Board members from UN Climate Change | International Civil Aviation Organization | European Commission | Federal Aviation Administration | EUROCONTROL | European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) | Manchester Metropolitan University Business School | Aviation Environment Federation

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬! 🤝✨We love teaming up with strong local partners in many markets because we are convinced that where knowledge and expertise are pooled, something particularly good and long-lasting is created. 💎✨ Recently, at the 34th Annual Congress & General Assembly of ACI EUROPE in Istanbul, we were able to show all participants what such strong partnerships can look like. Together with our partner Unifree Duty Free, we were Diamond Sponsor of the event. In addition, all participants at iGA Istanbul Airport Airport were able to see for themselves what strong partnerships can achieve. 🍸🍽️ Ongoing exchange is important for successful partnerships. It was therefore fantastic that representatives of Gebr. Heinemann, Unifree Duty Free and our other Turkish partner ATU Duty Free attended the Pre-Gala Dinner Cocktail and the Gala Dinner together. 🌍✈️ We hope that all delegates enjoyed their stay in Istanbul, and we do look forward to further cooperations with all existing and new partners around the globe! #ACI #Aviation #Partnerships #TravelRetail #Experience

𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐈𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐛𝐮𝐥 The 34th ACI EUROPE Annual Congress & General Assembly was a great success, and we are proud to have been Diamond Partner alongside our friends from Unifree Duty Free. Our Co-CEO Max Heinemann was on site and contributed to the discussions with his welcome speech at the Pre-Gala Dinner Cocktail together with Olivier Jankovec, Director General of ACI EUROPE, as well as in the two panel sessions he was invited to. His key messages: ⭐ 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: From the passenger’s point of view, traveling is a holistic experience – even though several parties are involved, and several services are used from the moment of considering a booking until reaching the destination. 🤝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: The passenger does not belong to the airline, the airport, or the retailer – he belongs only to himself. Therefore, collaboration between all parties involved is necessary to ensure that passengers have a great travel experience. This includes data sharing among parties for further improvements to the benefit of the passengers. ✈️ 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬: Long-term and trusted partnerships are key to create outstanding solutions for the passengers. iGA Istanbul Airport is a great example where we have two strong local partnerships with Unifree and ATU Duty Free. 🔗 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦: The work done by industry associations is of high-relevance. ACI Europe and European Travel Retail Confederation (ETRC) have an important mission for the European aviation ecosystem and beyond. We should further strengthen this collaboration. Thank you all for a great exchange. We look forward to future joint projects and improving the travel experience for passengers! #ACI #Aviation #Partnerships #TravelRetail #Experience

In a confident state of the nation address to the ACI EUROPE Annual Assembly & Congress this week the association's head flashes the red card to regulators…and says airport charges must go up. I am use to such strident language from International Air Transport Association (IATA) DGs such as Giovanni Bisignani and Willie Walsh, but generally not airport ones. So, what's got Olivier Jankovec so het up?

A few reflexions as our 34th Annual Congress General Assembly perfectly hosted by iGA Istanbul Airport has just come to a close: 1. Being in Istanbul with Türkiye’s Transport Minister Abdulkadir URALOĞLU not only allowed participants to realise how the epicenter of European & Global aviation keeps moving Eastwards. It revealed significant divergences in the way Goverments deal with aviation. While air connectivity tends to be (at best) taken for granted in the Western part of our continent, it sits at the heart of Türkiye’s economic development policy and soft power strategy. The long-term implications of that should be food for thought for the EU, as it now seemingly looks at complementing its Green Deal with an Industrial/Competitiveness Deal… Our 2024 Airport Industry Connectivity Report is worth considering in this regard. 2. That does not mean backtracking on decarbonisation should be an option. The EU needs to move forward with the implementation of Fit for 55 as much as Türkiye needs to move forward with its planned SAF mandate. But we need flexibility mechanisms, incentives and a proper SAF industrial policy. As we have repeatedly said with our #Destination2050 partners, we just can’t do this alone. 3. Our VUCA & BANI World is more challenging than ever. But through future proofing and transformation, it can also involve new opportunities. It also requires forging a new cooperative modus operandi across the aviation sector - and beyond with energy suppliers and regulators. 4. As our ACI EUROPE President Armando Brunini said: « the US innovate, China copies and Europe regulates… ». We gave a red card 🟥👎yesterday to the Irish Aviation Authority for its recent determination on airport charges at Dublin Airport and to the French regulatory system for being based on a systematic downward pressure on airport charges at odds with airports’ costs and investment needs. 5. For the whole ACI EUROPE team, it was as ever extremely rewarding to get so many airports together with our institutional stakeholders: European Commission, European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine along with our business partners - Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air, Pegasus Airlines, Airbus, Airlines for Europe (A4E), LVNL, Gebr. Heinemann, JCDecaux, and many others. We feel energised by the ambition, resolve and focus of our airport members to chart the way forward to sustainable air connectivity. #withandforairports - always Herald Ruijters | Dominik Piotrowski | Damien Meadows | Andreas Boschen | Alexander Kava | Alessio Quaranta Bilal Ekşi | Güliz Öztürk | Marion Geoffroy | Ourania Georgoutsakou |Max Heinemann | Jerome Lepage Selahattin Bilgen | Thomas Woldbye | Stefan Schulte | Nicolas Notebaert | Wilma van Dijk | Javier Marín
