Who doesn't love ice cream, especially when it's well-deserved? 🍦 Last week, we treated our airport community to delicious ice cream treats. With a busy summer season, our hardworking colleagues certainly earned a refreshing scoop. Thirteen ice cream carts were stationed throughout the airport, ready to surprise our airport community. We hope everyone enjoyed the sweet break! 😋

As of today, #brusselsairport further expands its cargo network between Belgium and China with Capital Airlines. 📦 Twice a week, the airline will operate a flight from Nanchang, Jiangxi province, to Brussels Airport. This network development enables us to strengthen our position as gateway to the world as well as our expertise in our focus segments. ✈️ ‪As a European performant hub we ship 701,000 tonnes of goods per year. Our cargo activities are key for Brussels Airport and are a significant contribution to the Belgian economy. Happy landing Beijing Capital Airlines and thank you for your trust!

In June, #brusselsairport welcomed 2.1 million travellers. ✈ An increase of 4% compared to June 2023. Almost 54.000 tons of freight was transported. Today, fully electric fuel hydrant dispenser vehicles have arrived at #brusselsairport. Without any wings, engines or passengers on board, these brand-new vehicles will take us to a greener destination by dispensing aviation fuel from the underground hydrant system into the aircraft. Ordered last year by Stargate - EU Green Deal partner Skytanking, these have now been custom-made for our airport following several months of successful large-scale trials at the airport; as part of the Stargate project. ⚡ Together, with our Stargate partners, Brussels Airport is powering up the transformation towards decarbonized ground operations. More in our latest press release: https://lnkd.in/e2fgstDA

Remember November 2022 when we started redeveloping Brucargo Central? It is now taking shape! We have built our very first ever timber construction office building, featuring a fossil-free heating and cooling with thermal energy. Here’s an update: 📢 We are halfway through the realisation of this sustainable project 😴 As the teams take a break, we wish our contractor and everyone involved a well deserved construction leave 🔥 With renewed energy, we are ready to go full steam ahead for the second half aiming for a neat delivery and collaboration We can’t wait to see the final result!

What does Paradise City Festival mean for us? Not only the most sustainable festival, but also a mission we want to support. 💚 As mobility partner, we provided a carbon-free ride to and from the festival with our electric shuttle bus service. Happy to have been part of this eco-friendly journey!

Buongiorno! 👋 You can now fly directly from Brussels Airport to Bari! Yesterday, Transavia added three destinations from our airport: Bari (Italy), Marrakesh (Morocco), and Thessaloniki (Greece).  In addition, the airline will base a third aircraft on our tarmac for long-term operations. A significant step in our network development as well as new travel opportunities for our passengers.
