💡Mondi Group ideated a paper-based packaging created from #renewable resources. It is a great sustainable solution that grants flexibility in its different applications and fits 4evergreen’s #circularity-by-design principles. ♻️ In addition, Mondi's FunctionalBarrier was designed to be recycled within existing paper recycling systems, as well as tested using the Cepi method and following the 4evergreen recyclability evaluation protocol. 📝 Save the date! 4evergreen web event "Unlocking the toolbox to perfect fibre-based packaging circularity" will take place on 10 September at 14:00-15:30, moderated by 4evergreen co-Chair Sarah Price (Director of Sustainability, Sappi). Our experts will examine how to improve recyclability by discussing: 🔸 Design recommendations for #packaging, including used beverage cartons and other types of fibre-based composite packaging, referring to the 4evergreen Circularity by Design Guideline. 🔸 Challenges and solutions for assessing the #recyclability of individual packaging products, using 4evergreen's Recyclability Evaluation Protocol. Great news for the packaging industry! Member DS Smith recently launched the Circular Design Metrics, in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. This pioneering tool includes eight different indicators that promote efficiency while also improving environmental performance. 💡It will be easier to identify the best solution in terms of #sustainability and #circularity of the packaging, thanks to the overview provided by the indicators. ♻️ Sharing insights into another Circularity Success Story, this time in improving Collection & Sorting practices. Paper Week, organized by Comieco, wrapped up its fourth edition from April 8th to 14th. This initiative aims to boost the separate #collection of paper and cardboard in Italy, focusing on quantity and quality. With daily free events - virtual and in-person, Paper Week provides an educational platform for schools, citizens, professionals, and opinion leaders. In an ongoing effort towards #sustainability, initiatives like Paper Week underscore the significance of individual actions in achieving global environmental goals.

#Fibrebased packaging is derived from #renewable materials and made of virgin and recycled fibres that can be reused multiple times.
