We rented a new apartment in Jacksonville FL that was equipped with a Humax BGW320-500 gateway and AT&T's "instant on" service. Service requested was 500Mb/sec and was over-provisioned at about 610Mb/sec.

We have found frequent service disruptions, one of which lasted more than 11 hours. It's impossible to contact AT&T of course, as expected. (Fortunately, we have 5G back-up -- very much needed.)

Speed is consistent and jitter is low -- as expected. We have a RIPE probe installed at this location (among others) and note that latencies are greater (but with less variance) than both Comcast and Time-Warner cable. Higher -- but very acceptable.

Note: It is impossible to place the Humax gateway in true bridge mode. The best one can do is IP Passthrough. The gateway still maintains a session table, for example.

Bottom line: When it works it works extremely well. However this AT&T service is unreliable and there is no effective way to deal with this carrier when issues arise.
