Netflix Drops New ‘Leo’ Clip

Geeked Week '23 keeps on geeking… Adam Sandler stars in - and co-wrote - the hilarious new 3DCG musical feature about the eponymous 74-year-old lizard, facing impending mortality, as he plans to escape his decades-long terrarium home; it’s got Bill Burr too, and streams later this month.

Today, during Geeked Week ’23, Netflix shared a new clip for its hilarious new animated comedy Leo, starring Adam Sandler (Hotel Transylvania, The Wedding Singer). Streaming November 21, the 3DCG feature follows the eponymous 74-year-old lizard as he plans to escape his decades-long terrarium home after discovering he has only one year to live.

The noted actor/comedian delivers signature laughs in this coming-of-age animated musical comedy about the last year of elementary school – as seen through the eyes of a class pet. Jaded 74-year-old lizard Leo has been stuck in the same Florida classroom for decades with his terrarium-mate turtle (Bill Burr). When he learns he only has one year left to live, he plans to escape to experience life on the outside but instead gets caught up in the problems of his anxious students, including an impossibly mean substitute teacher. Cue the strangest but most rewarding bucket list ever…

Starring alongside Sandler and Burr are Cecily Strong; Jason Alexander; Rob Schneider; Sadie Sandler; Sunny Sandler; Jackie Sandler; Heidi Gardner; Nick Swardson; Nicholas Turturro; Robert Smigel; Jo Koy; and Stephanie Hsu.

Smigel, Robert Marianetti, and David Wachtenheim direct from a script by Sandler, Smigel, and Paul Sado. Happy Madison produces, with Animal Logic handling animation production.
