Awesome Women in Engineering

Our mission is to build a strong community for women in engineering and their allies at Yelp by facilitating professional career building activities, networking, leadership, and mentorship opportunities.

About Awesome Women in Engineering

AWE provides support for women engineers at Yelp. As an official Yelp Employee Resource Group, we are committed to organizing activities targeted towards professional growth for our members, helping them maximize their potential at Yelp and beyond.

AWE started in as a small grassroots organization aimed at connecting women engineers at Yelp. It has since expanded into a large structured organization, offering many programs such as a mentorship ring, brown bag lunches to discuss the latest events in tech, public speaking workshops, self defense classes, book clubs, and many more!

AWE Programs

We have an awesome leadership team that helps organize and plan several different programs for AWE members. If you are interested in learning more about our programs, you can reach us at awelead@yelp.com.

  • New Hire Champions

    Starting at a new company can be a lonely and disorienting experience. This program is designed to build a support network for new women engineers within their first couple weeks at Yelp.

  • Public Speaking

    We want AWE members to have a comfortable space to gain confidence and build core skills needed to communicate effectively and speak publicly at conferences.

  • WE Speak

    Sharing knowledge is good. We want to foster learning and collaboration with the external community on technical areas like Search, Ads, Internationalization, to name a few.
