@Laddo: - This item currently links to class (Q217594), which is a mathematical concept. Can you correct that please? See: http://tools.wmflabs.org/wikidata-todo/tree.html?q=246672&rp=279&lang=de -Tobias1984 (talk) 22:23, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Tobias1984: Referring to English Wiktionary, noun "class" definition #1 and #11. You prefer keeping class (Q217594) for the math meaning, but did you see any other item for definition #1? Note that French and Spanish descriptions in class (Q217594) refer to definition #1. If we were to create a new item for #1, should #1 derive from #11 or should #11 derive from #1 ? It would be easier for you to simply replace class (Q217594) with the substitute "class" item. LaddΩ chat ;) 22:45, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Emw, TomT0m: - This also needs review. @Laddo: - I think that the French and Spanish pages are also Wiktionary-meaning #11. On french wiktionary (https://fr.wiktionary.org/wiki/classe) that would be 1d, 1e. We also have:
We will need even more items the more semantically precise the database becomes. Even grouping 1a and 1b is a bad idea. Being in the same class (together) and taking the same class (separate but same subject) is a big difference. -Tobias1984 (talk) 23:05, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Tobias1984: OK I'll create "class" for "group sharing common characteristics". I'll port fr & es descriptions from class (Q217594) to it. I can make it a subclass of the "philosophical" class (Q5127848)  View with Reasonator View with SQID - but again we need some kind of group superclass... Done: class (Q16889133)  View with Reasonator View with SQID . Derives from both the math and the philosophical class for now. LaddΩ chat ;) 23:31, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Note that we're gonna have the same problem with group (Q83478)  View with Reasonator View with SQID ... LaddΩ chat ;) 23:23, 16 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Laddo: - When Wiktionary is connected to Wikidata this new created item "class" is the one that is connected to the wiktionary page. The word "class" is then separated from the different semantic meanings.@Emw, TomT0m: should check up on this. I'm not an expert with these things. Tobias1984 (talk) 10:07, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The "super-class" item will be connected with Wiktionary article class? Hmm, why not to класс? It depends on model of Wiktionary inclusion... --Infovarius (talk) 19:35, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

watercraft type and watercraft class

[edit]

@Infovarius Watercraft class is more specialized than watercraft type, I believe, so why did you make watercraft type a subclass of watercraft class? Peter F. Patel-Schneider (talk) 13:13, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand the difference. Ok, I revert myself. --Infovarius (talk) 19:40, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
