WATA is a singer-songwriter, composer and designer creating sound and visuals in Mexico.

WATA is a composer, vocalist and sound healer who intertwines ancient sound traditions with innovative modern lyricism and alternative composition. Her songs create ethereal soundscapes through vocal and synth layering that have to ability to touch the heart and sooth the mind. WATA has trained classically for over a decade, inspired from influences around the world such as Dhrupad song structure, Andalusian rhythms, and Appalachian vocal inflections. The integrative result is greater than a personally impactful brand of music— it is, instead, a community rooted collective imbued with the healing power of sound. 

WATA has introduced her genre-bending take on New Age meditation music to audiences at Zoratopia Art Basel, Coachella and to subscribers of the Calm app. Her soundbaths intrigue curious listeners and experienced meditators alike. WATA has been featured in Rolling Stone, Billboard, Dummy Mag, and was selected as one of The Digilogue’s 2021 Artists to Watch. As the Co-Founder of Lazuli Collective, she has worked with brands: Chopra, Calm, Goldenvoice, and curated the Wellness Oasis tent at Coachella.
