I wouldn’t give it one star

I wouldn’t give it one star , but had to so as I can reply
This platform is becoming a total laughing stock , all main stream professional photographers are laughing at Zenfolio
What’s happening to this company,
My guess is it’s either been sold off to a company who just haven’t got a clue and running the company with two man and a dog
Or they have slashed staff, and cutting operating costs , it’s not what it used to be , personally I think it’s on its last legs
It’s absolutely awful now stay clear if you can

Great product team

Alex was GREAT!

Alex, my website optimization rep, was fantastic. Showed me multiple site features that I am now able to take advantage of that will make my site's "look and feel" so much more professional AND will get me off an running on selling my images! He was extremely informative and patient, taking time to explain things to me in detail. I really appreciate the effort he put into the two sessions we've had...so far.

A major issue resolved

I am not sure for what reason an "Archive" facility was added to the platform which caused a major problem for a user of my type. My business was seriously endangered by the addition of this facility. After numerous commnunications, the issue has been resolved thanks to the cooperative aproach of your support team. Good work from your support team. Thank you.

Epsom Camera Club

I run my camera club’s website and until now things have been ok. Since archiving our galleries we have experienced all sorts of problems. I raised a ticket 5 days ago but have heard nothing. There is no way of contacting them apart from raising a ticket, not good customer service. It seems like our custom means nothing to them. I think it’s time to look for another website provider.

What always makes my experience great…is the amazing customer service by the Zen Pro Team!

What always makes my experience great is the amazing customer service and execution the Zen Pro Team does for me, particularly Dylan of late. He has been tremendous (as has everyone else to be fair) in helping me with my needs in 2024. The dude is a rock star as is the entire Zen Pro Team as a whole!

Zenfolio is now utter bilge

Zenfolio is now utter bilge, dont touch it, please dont touch it. It's on it's last legs, with lies, obfuscation, deflection and ignorance.
60,000 photographs stored there over a decade of use, and now i cannot do anything quickly.
So yourself a favour, look elsewhere for a online photo storing service, as it was, and never will be again, Zenfolio

Slow, Clunky & Archiving is AWFUL

We've been using Zenfolio for our business for almost 6 years now, and although it's always been slow, I liked many of the other features so I continued. I feel as though the slowness has only increased through time and the amount of time I have to wait for photos to load is absurd. I see spinning orange circles more than I see photo thumbnails. I have a pretty fast computer too. I can't imagine how many times clients see that. Also, many clients claim never getting their gallery link (and they aren't in their spam folder) when we know we've sent them through the Zenfolio website, so there's that too. And lastly, there is the new horrible feature of archiving, where so many older galleries just went missing and now I have to retrieve any of those galleries/photos if I need them. I tried retrieving a gallery of a smaller wedding the other day and although I can see the gallery, I can't download anything because it's still in retrieval status. It's says to allow at least 12 hours, and it's been 2 days. The kicker is that there are photos mixed into the gallery from another photographer. I counted at least 13. I truly hope my clients don't retrieve their galleries and find photos in there that do not belong. For the high cost of the service, it should run smoothly and quickly. We have so many galleries in there that it will be a big, annoying process to move to another service, but it's necessary and we have begun the process. If anyone is looking to use a gallery service, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Also something to note- they have shut off comments on their social media so that unhappy customers are silenced. That says A LOT.

(I would also be very wary of the influx of positive reviews by "invited" reviewers here in the last few days. Seems a bit strange to me.)

We understand the challenges with the new archiving feature on Zenfolio Classic and are currently considering how to move forward. The website's bandwidth is so slow

The websites bandwidth is so slow that a simple photo takes minutes to load- causing viewers to close out of the site.
Support is a never-ending black hole ending in CHAT that is never answered.
Trying to cancel account is impossible- nobody answers chat. But they efficiently charge your credit card... only aspect of the cr@ppy website that works.

Zenfolio is a data privacy and usability nightmare

I was a customer of Zenfolio for around 10 years. It was never the best gallery system, it was incredible slow but it was ok, not worth the struggle to reupload all photos to an other gallery service. And than Zenfolio implemented the nightmare called archiving. Galleries are disappearing from your file system and restoring them does not take a few hours, it takes weeks. Ignoring that a gallery where I have to wait 12 hours to see it is worthless to me. During the restoring process, the system had at one point put photos of other photographers in my galleries. Imagine - I had photos of other photographers in my galleries displaying children. What a data protection nightmare. And the customer service was as bad as the development.

Zenfolio has become such a disaster. I am glad that I have left, ended my subscription and have found an other gallery serrvice and I can only recommend everyone to follow my example. I do not see a future for Zenfolio after they have screwed up in such a colossal way.

Zenfolio introduced auto archiving and…

Zenfolio introduced auto archiving and since then it has been a disaster. Avoid
They allow you to opt out 20 galleries but then ignore the setting and archive regardless.
The archive restore tool then doesn’t show the gallery and there is no way to restore.
You then have to contact support and all that happens is an email advising it is taking longer than expected to restore galleries.
What a shame, was once an excellent option for photographers but now it is unworkable.

Excellent Viewing & Ordering Platform

The platform is convenient; I don't have to collect the orders, send the files to the print lab or package them up. My favorite print lab, Millers Lab, is an option on your platform and that was great! It was easy to setup packages and create stores. My clients loved how easy it was to order packages, and getting them mailed directly to them saved time.

Reverse the archive blunder

I'm a customer for many years. Overnight they went from 5 stars to no stars due the damage caused by the terrible decision to start archiving galleries which creates grief for me and my customers. The restore process is terrible and slow if it works at all. Zenfolio should reverse this decision and go back to the way things were, while they still have customers.

If I could give zero stars, I would

If I could give zero stars, I would. I've been s client for over 14 years. Their service is often "down" or broken. Recently, they archived older galleries. My photography business relies on ALL my photos being available. Their gallery restore process is broken and photos remain unavailable. They are sh*tting all over their longest and most loyal customer base. It's truly sad.

Bookings as part of the website is a must

I love having bookings as part of the site as opposed to an outside entity. Also, love the fact that the gallery is part of the site as well. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I'm far from a website builder and it's a bit more difficult than other sites.

I concur with all the negative reports…

I concur with all the negative reports here. I also have been a zenfolio client for around fifteen years. I have just cancelled my account as, like others, archiving and restoring is a slow, clunky, nightmare. The thought of trying to download my galleries, which would also be a nightmare, has led me to the decision to reload onto a working alternative site from hard drive back-ups. Sorry Zenfolio, you have screwed up big time!

What happened????

As a long-time user of Zenfolio, I am so sad to see what this service has become. For the longest time, this service was amazing, but recently that has all changed. I'm not sure whose idea it was to start the whole archiving thing, but it is causing chaos for my business. Not only is it making galleries inaccessible to my clients, but it is crashing my portfolio causing me trouble getting new clients as well. I'm not sure what I am going to do, but at this point, I'm sure that it won't involve Zenfolio.
