PNC- Bank -Terrable

I have tried to close my account on two occasions. Unfortunately, attempting to close an account consumes over a hour. Once you open an account it is difficult to get the account closed. I was very disappointed. The process did not appear to be legitimate. It was a very uncomfortable process, and I felt extremely pressured to maintain an account.

PNC ON GAINY RANCH IN SCOTTSDALE HANDLE…

PNC ON GAINY RANCH IN SCOTTSDALE HANDLE MY BROKER CD THROUGH TYSON BRIMHALL AN INVESTMENT ADVISOR. HE WAS INSTUCTED TO PUT ALL MATURING MONIES INTO MY SAVINGS ACCOUNT WHEN DUE. HE FAILED TO DO THIS AND LET IT SIT IN MY BROKER ACCOUNT FOR OVER AMONTH EARNING NO INTEREST WHICH COST ME OVER 3000 DOLLARS IN LOSES. DO NOT TRUST PNC TO LOOK OUT FOR YOUR INTEREST. WHEN I ASK WHY HE DID NOT FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS, HE REPLIED THAT HE WAS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO DO SO AND IF I DID NOT LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE BANKING BOARD. I AM 77 YEARS OLD AND LIVE OFF MY INTEREST SO THIS HURT ME SERIOUSLY.

Very bad bank - PNC Bank

Yes, PNC Bank has experienced data breaches and customers have received fraudulent alerts. In June 2024, Twingate reported that PNC Bank websites experienced high traffic, which is consistent with computer attacks. In February 2024, WTAE reported that PNC Bank representatives identified a Venmo withdrawal from June 2022. More recently, PNC Bank has notified customers that they have received fraudulent alerts via text or email.

HSA card services

We currently had an HSA card with this bank. Not only we we charged monthly maintenance fees, but also closure fees and it wasn't disclosed to anyone while doing so. The company who was affiliated with PNC bank already has their own issues to be addressed and now PNC bank is just as bad as them.

Do not use this bank for HSA services!!! They are horrible with fees and lack of communication.

Pre-payment Penalties on Auto Loan

In 2024 no bank should be charging a pre-payment penalty for paying a car loan off early! This bank charged $1100 for paying off the car in less than a year! AVOID these scam artists!

My Zelle account is blocked permanently…

My Zelle account is blocked permanently with NO reason.
I have used Zelle for two years to pay my lawn services, for handyman services, etc. Instead of check or cash I used Zelle for convenience and my security purposes. Suddenly with NO reason my ZELLE with PNC is blocked permanently. They said apologize for the inconvenience and they have right to block me.

My Favorite Bank!

Great service at the Elkhart Indiana branch PNC bank on cr 6! I have been with PNC for many years and have had excellent service at all times! (No, they are not paying me to write this!) My recent months working with Allison and LaTrisha have been wonderful! Both ladies are professional, friendly, and informative! The atmosphere and cleanliness of this office is impeccable as well! Great job, all!

If I could give negative stars I would

If I could give negative stars I would. PNC has gotten increasing worse through the years. They fees are ridiculous. The website never functions properly and the customer service is pretty terrible as well. I've had a branch rep tell me quote "Yeah they are pretty conservative." This is an understatement considering they are one of the last big banks to offer connection via Plaid or adopt any type of crypto acceptance. I will be leaving at the first chance I get.

PNC Has Gone Badly Downhill.

We've banked with PNC for over forty years. They closed two of their three area branches a couple of years ago, including our local branch. As a result, we have to drive quarter of an hour to the next town even to use the ATM. When I asked them about getting some help with transferring our safe deposit box, they blew me off, and then it took me a lot of effort to get the promised refund of the remaining 10 months of box rental back from them. The staff in the surviving branch are nice enough, but limited in what they can do for you, as they've had no branch manager for most of the last 2-3 years. The corporation is clearly very "top down" and does not provide the branch and staff the resources and support they need. As a result, the customer service is very limited. Self-destruction of what used to be a decent bank for consumers.

Unhelpful customer service

I was on the phone for over 15 minutes with someone from the transfer department who ended up being unable to skip my reoccurring transfer for the month. He told me he could cancel it completely and I could call back next month to restart it. However, when my husband looked at our online account, he was able to skip it with two clicks on the website. How was customer service unable to do that?!?

Do not get a mortgage here

Do not get a mortgage through this bank. I wanted to change what bank my mortgage payment came from, so I went online and set up a new autopayment (note, nowhere on the site does it say if you set it up at the inception, you have to fill out paperwork and cannot do this online). Next month, payment was attempted twice out of the bank I no longer had funds in (I call that Bank A). Contacted customer service, they said I had to fill out paper form. Did so, and faxed it. Next month, attempted out of Bank A twice again. Called customer service, they couldn't find my fax, so it never got changed. She assured me she took care of it. Next month, happened again. Talked to two customer service reps and they confirmed it will not happen again, yet the second attempt happened again after I talked to customer service. They said, wellllll, it is set up to do it automatically a second time and we have no way of stopping it. Um, you mean to tell me that if a customer notices you took it out of the wrong account and is trying to stop a second attempt, you have no way of stopping it? I find that hard to believe. I have no confidence that this is fixed and I'm going to have to close that other account. Also, they said they would not be able to reimburse me for the overdraft fees incurred at Bank A ($210).

Stay away! They are not smart enoughin customers service to hide their greed and ACT like they care. Even upper management. They are not very smart. I’m leaving & blocking their calls!

The customer service is SO bad given to us, the account holders, by those, the ones we are holding up and sustaining. They are arrogant and honestly probably trying g their best but SO tired as there is sooooo much to disdain about THIS institution, that they truly get so tired of hearing legitimate complaints. I do feel for them, I still however am very disenchanted with a back that we keep a considerable amount of our money in; personal, business accounts alike. Bad experiences have increased over the last several month’s inexcusable bad service as if we are not paying their wages. What are they? Dumb? Even management. The polite rudeness, moving from one dept to the next because nobody knows what they are doing. Waiting as if they have the rightful make us wait. Theymust be there at the job they loathe; NOT our problem. Then we receive calls asking us to purchase their investment packages. WOW! Really ?

I have had PNC bank for multiple years

I have had PNC bank for multiple years. As a personal bank now I've switched to business. And I get little if any rewards or benefits for being business account. II don't even get the AT. M fee back. And it seems if I have a transaction coming in and my balance is low. They hold the transaction from coming in. So they taking apply and overdraft fee, and then they allow the transaction to come through. I hate Pnc

It took 1 hour to open 3 CD accounts…

It took 1 hour to open 3 CD accounts for my family. The customer service person was tapping on the on the keyboard and clicking on the mouse the whole time. Chase let you open it on line in about 2 minutes. By using pnc I got a slight better rate which makes me $3.40 better off for the term of CD thanks to my investment of 60 minutes! I will stick with chase in the future.

The Worst Phone Customer Service Experience

I just had the most painful phone Customer Service experience EVER and I have had plenty of bad experiences. I swear PNC does it on purpose. I couldn't log in my account not because of a problem with a password or username. Simply because supposedly my phone number magically disappeared from their datebase. They asked me to call a number. I tried 3 times and 3 times and they had me go through an excruciating process where the automated voice has me repeat 10 times the information and then hand up on me. After an hour of battling with them, they finally told me all branches are closed. Why would PNC treat their customers that way? It's inhumane!! Couldn't they just say that the branches are closed right away? Why do they have the customer who is already aggravated and tired from trying to log in their PNC website or app go through this excruciating process only to find out that they are closed? Why do they despite their customers? I was thinking of opening a checking account with them. Now I am 100% sure that I will NEVER EVER open an account with a company that despises their customers.

Terrible customer loyalty and policies

Terrible customer loyalty and policies. Accidentally sent a large transfer to a closed account while on business and they held it for a small amount that was owed. Inconvenience further. I’ve had an account with them for 3 years.
