By: Bradley Ben

Music phones are the fad of the day, and thus we have manufactures deluging the market with their doze of speciality. We have seen Sony Ericsson winning the laurels with their Walkman series, Nokia do the honours with their Xpress phones, Samsung rocking the world with its i300, and now with LG U400, its the turn of LG to appease the world with beats and ecstasy. The phone comes out after the stupendous success of LG Chocolate, and does a good job to carry on the reputation of its pedigree.

Music runs through the blood and soul of and it starts right from its design. Swathed in black - with blue trimming around the navigation controls, it comes in a minimalistic funky fashion, to yoke well with the rock n' roll image. The handset also deviates from the usual and comes with a unique navigational system- a scroll wheel, so as to make it look quite a sibling of the musical Apple iPod.

The dedicated music player of LG U400supports a range of file formats, including AAC, AAC+, AMR, MP3, MIDI, MP4, WAV and WMA. There are options to enhance and edit the tracks. The feature of Music DJ specially adds zing to the musical prowess, where one can explore creativity by adding percussion and sound effects. LG U400also includes a preset equaliser as well as an adapter. Thus, enabling the users to make the most of any set of standard 3.5mm headphones. For uninterrupted flow of music, the long adaptor comes with remote attachedand allows one to adjust music volume and skip, stop, pause and play music tracks - all without having to take the phone out of the pocket.

Beyond music, two other admirable features of the LG U400includes a two-inch QVGA display, and pleasant video call performance. Besides, the device also offers Java support, WAP, and the versatility og Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
