What’s New in IP 4.4
Agenda
New Functionality
• Database Query Tool
• Database Well Filter
• Graphical Workflow Designer
• Logplot / Crossplot Highlight
• Log Header Editor
• Plot Composer
• 2D/3D Well Diagrams
Updates to Modules
• NMR – Light Hydrocarbons and Permeability
• Saturation Height – User Defined Equations
• Mineral Solver – Model Parameters and Non-Linear Solver
• Production Logging – Array Tools Workflow
Database Query Tool
• Query any database
• Allows to search
Multiple databases in
the same SQL query
• Search on all
information contained in
all entity's: well header,
curve header, curve
sets, parameter sets, &
zone sets
• Creates Well Lists for
loading wells etc.
• Display well locations
on map
DB Browser - Well Filter
• Allows a filter to be
applied to DB
Browser to reduce
the wells
Graphical Workflow Designer
• Link Modules
into a Workflow
• Automatic linking
of output curves
to input curves
downstream
• Automatic linking
of Parameter
Sets
• Save and Load complete Workflows
Log Plot – Crossplot Highlight
• Crossplot shows only
the data highlighted on
the log plot
• Interactive selection
• right click
• Interactive edit
• like zone
• Toggled off/on from
• Log Plot
• Xplot
• Works Multi-well
New Log Header Editor
• Open existing or
create new based on
template
• Option to import data
from a specific run in
the well header
• Click any
cell to type
in values
• Export header
to graphics file
which can be
imported to Plot
Composer
• Right click to
change any
images/logos
• Option to Sync
new changes
made back to
the IP well
header
New Log Header Editor
Plot Composer
• Build up concatenated
log plots from any
graphical files including
pdf and web pages
• Headers, well diagrams,
tool diagrams, location
maps, interpretations,
1:200, 1:1000, MD, TVD
etc.
• Single or Multi-well
New Well Diagram Manager
• Diagram Manager
with Preview Pane
• Display on any Logplot
alongside curve data
• Data such as Pipe Thickness & Metal Loss can be added and then displayed
New Well Diagram Manager
• Borehole X-section
view with values
• Can be plotted on a
log track as mini
plots
New Well Diagram Manager
New Well Diagram Manager
• Right click
on Logplot
Diagram to
launch into
the 3D
Viewer
New Well Diagram Manager
• 3D viewer
options
included
‘Sliced View’
and
annotating
pipes with log
values
NMR Interpretation – Light Hydrocarbon Correction
• Light Hydrocarbon
Corrections for low HI
and long T1 effects
• Based on solution of
density porosity and
NMR porosity
• Includes clay correction
in the density porosity
NMR Interpretation – Permeability upgrades
• Modified Coates perm equation with
pore-connectivity factor (d)
𝐾 = 𝑎 .
𝑑.𝐹𝐹
𝐵𝐹+ 1−𝑑 .𝐹𝐹
𝑏
. 𝜙 𝑐
• T2mean perm equation
𝐾 = 𝑎 . 2𝑀 𝑏
. 𝜙 𝑐
• Regression of coefficients by facies
and/or by zone (currently only by zone)
• Multi-well regression of coefficients
Saturation Height – User Defined Equations
• Users can now enter any
equation, just type it in!
• Up to 6 coefficients
• Up to 6 curves (Phi + k + 4)
• Fit your own coefficients or
just determine the R2 to
your data
Mineral Solver – Model Parameters
• Every Model can now have specific
Parameters
• Every parameter available on the
Zonal parameter tabs can be
assigned unique values to every
Model
• Increased flexibility, e.g. different:
• Saturation Equations
• Sxo Methods
• Invasion Factor (Sxo in OBM)
• PhiT Clay
• Rwb
• And don’t forget that every numeric
parameter can be a curve already!
Mineral Solver - Non-Linear Solver
• New Non-Linear Solver option
• This allows for the use of non-linear
saturation equations when resistivity or
conductivity are included in the model
• Only needed for special cases, such as:
• conductive minerals other than
clays, e.g. pyrite
• we still have the problem that we do
not have adequate saturation
equations to represent these
• including NMR bound water without
running NMR Interpretation first
Mineral Solver – Non-Linear Solver
• Including NMR bound water without running NMR Interpretation first
• By including Rt in the model
Mineral Solver – Non-Linear Solver
Production Logging – Array Tools Workflow
• PL Module
Workflow
updated to
include brand
new sub
modules for
Array Tool
Interp
Holdup calculations and images
Production Logging – Array Tools Workflow
• Calculate
Holdup
Images from
Resistivity
and
Capacitance
Array Data
Velocity calculations and images
Production Logging – Array Tools Workflow
• Calculate
Velocity
Images from
Array Tool
mini-spinners
Production Logging – Array Tools Workflow
• Define Geometry of
Array Tool within the
borehole and select
no of horizontal
borehole segments
for Flowrate
Calculations
Production Logging – Array Tools Workflow
• Calculate final Flow
Maps and Rates
• Instantly update
results by
interactively
adjusting calculation
zones
• Option to Surface
Match Results
