Companies are also making efforts in utilizing social networks for their external marketing for ex: P&G has introduced a website.
WEB 2.0 Multi Platform  It's a multi-platform service. You can access Google on a PC or on a mobile device like a cell phone.  It avoids the business model established by the software industry. You don't need to buy a particular software package to use the service.  Increase transparency in government and organizations. More users are connecting to each other and content through networked, peer-driven activities & content Linkedin now has service referrals as part of their package
Continued… Web 2.0 is truly two-way Marketers need to be very willing to “listen” and receive more than broadcast  User-generated content may be more valuable to users  Investment in blog marketing will increase by 22% in 2005 The internet is making communication with the masses more accessible than it ever has been before! Corporate interests are allocating greater amounts of ad revenue toward the internet. Simply Because more and more of peoples designated media time these days is spent online!
Continued… With the growth and expansion of web 2.0  technology Learning new skills and duplicating age old marketing techniques has never been easier or more accessible! In 2007 myspace got twice as many page views  as google!  Facebook is adding approximately 1 million new users a month! [
Mobile 2.0 as the future of web2.0 Web 2.0 is no longer considered a purely PC experience. Google has taken notice and created its own mobile phone operating system called Android that takes advantage of the various Google applications popular on the PC such as Google Maps, Google Calendar, Google video etc. In web 2.0 fashion, Google made the decision to allow the Linux-based Android OS to be open source and encourages outside programmers to improve the OS, adding new application.   
WEB 3.0 While O’Reilly believes that Web 3.0 is an extension of Web 2.0, believes it will be a third generation web approximately between 2010 and 2020 Intelligent Web-Web 2.0 is about social networking and mass collaboration with the blurring of lines between content creator and user whereas Web 3.0 is based on “intelligent” web applications using: Natural language processing Machine-based learning and reasoning Intelligent applications

Conclusion Web 2.0 is defined by a comprehensive set of changes in computer technology, user involvement and web design. New technologies were available which enabled developers to feed information to users in new formats, which were quicker, easier to handle and open to communities. This breakthrough led to a shift in user involvement.  Since Web 2.0 there has been much more attention to the way in which information is presented. From static to dynamic content, from left aligned to centre aligned layout, web design needs to be and is adaptable to the content it supports. Web2.0 brought the reader to the forefront.
